Why am I not sore in the morning anymore?

I've only been working out for about 2 weeks, the day after my first workout my chest was sore, I liked it. It was proof it was working. But now, it just doesnt burn. Does that mean its not working? Just wondering, thanks in advance!

Soreness does not equal growth. With that said, it may be time to increase intensity either weight or sets/reps.

Make sure you always maintain good form.

Well ive been pushing myself more I think. For building chest, is it better to use less weight/more reps or more weight/less reps???

I know exactly what you mean :) ... I loved it when i was sore the next morning because i felt like i was actually doing something but now i don't feel sore and i feel like i'm not accomplishing as much :(

The thing is i need someone to push me because i am not a self motivator... Maybe a personal trainer would be nice but they cost money... Dont you like having someone pushin you to you limits?

Yea, im the most procrastinating person EVER. Im always like ill do it tomorrow blah blah blah. But the mast 2-3 weeks ive been doing good. But the thing that pushed me to work out was that burn in the morning. If i dont see results like overnight I get discouraged lol. But im gonna keep at it.

Maybe try changing your routine slightly: do drop sets or change the number of reps. The body usually plateaus, not as early as 2 weeks, but it will give your body a nice 'push'

yeah i loved that too made you feel like you working out so hard then it stops... but oh well keep it up just think of the ladies thats what keeps me going :D

Think of it this way. The first time you weight trained at all, you basically ripped your muscles apart, absolutely demolished them. Then your muscles repaired themselves. You did it again, obliterated them. They repaired themselves again. This time your muscles are thinking "this maniac is putting us through hell, we need to prepare for next time"! so they get stronger, and more resillient (sp?) to your efforts. DM is correct. Soreness does not equal growth. Delayed onset muscle soreness should be noticeable and only noticeable. I barely notice it anymore.

LMAO that was put so well thanks for that :D

WOLVERINE,

Lets say you're benching and you do a set of 10 reps. Immediately following the set of 10 you increase the lbs and do a set of 6 reps with minimal/no rest. This is a drop set.

I got that description backward.....Been in Philly for work since Friday and a bit burned out. Forgive me.

So, lift a heavy weight for some reps then DROP the weight and do more reps.

Sorry bout that.
