whos tried wrist rollers

Anyone?..I made mine out of part of an old bed frame and some old wire. (just used what I found in the shop.):D I hear these are killer for the forearms. Killer Jerry; killer.

I have one I made 30 years ago out of a piece of an old broom stick and a piece of rope! They work great, especially if you can find something to rest your forearms on so isolate the wrist joint. I used to use the basement stairs since the house I lived in then had stairs that were open in the back. I could kneel on a stair and rest my forearm a couple of stairs up and let the weights hang down under the stairs, worked great, but I moved to another house and the stairs are all enclosed, no joy for forearms!

I tried these for the first time today, and right afterwards it felt like my forearms were going to explode. I have another question; when doing these, should I do overhand grip or underhand? I do them underhand. Sure you dont get a bigger range of motion, and it takes longer, but I can feel the burn more than if i did it overhand.

For some reason it seems like the forearms SUCK when you work them, more than anything else. It burns like crazy. I do a lot of wrist curls and reverse wrist curls.

Do both overhand and underhand! One way works the smaller muscles on the top of your forearm the other way the larger muscle on the back or palm side of your forearm.

You really dont have to work forearms directly, if hypertrophy is your main goal.

If you are strength training then I'd say you can do specific forearm exercises however, if you are doing movements such as deads, rows, hammer curls, lat pulldown, etc....your forearms will get more than enough stimulation to grow.

agreed. I used to isolate my forarms, but figured they pretty much get stimulated in almost any exercise where you grip something and pull. Figured isolation was a waste.
