yes, good choice - if it was brown rice i would say they are close but white rice has nothing good left in it :)

oh god..u guys always find something to ditch my diet LOL is white rice that bad?.. thats what I eat all the time..white rice w fish, white rice w meat, sometimes lettuce w meat or fish or fruit w meat or fish.....but mostly white rice..I love it lol when i was little id eat industrial portions of white rice :D

Its better than pizza but all the good stuff has been stripped off. a switch to brown rice or bismati (which is white and very very tasty) would be better for ya :)

nutmeg tastes g :) :) d in mash, might wanna try it.

O and if you can get king edward potatoes, all creamy and flaky. mmmm i feel hungry.

all that i can get only coliban potatoes, havent seen any other kind of white potatoes in the market. is the calorie difference between one and other kind of white potatoes?? or just the taste??

ps : this site is rocks... love it so much... i just joined, and only reading... once i posted... WOW!!!... its boosting my energy to really wanna get in shape... thanX FOLK

to be confess, I love jasmine rice as well :D thats why still trying to put lots effort to change.... BUT i guess, still get jasmine rice twice a week :p

davessatellite, by any chance, grab chicken breast, steam, and added soy sauce, thats the easiest way. anyway, rice can go with anything, and well, thats why still good to feel it :)

Grrrrr totally confused now - was so pleased to learn that basmati rice was up there with brown rice in the goodness stakes, then read a few more posts and found this:

"I also try to minimize the amount of basmati I eat or avoid it altogether, because although it is absolutely delicious, we all know that white rice is a no-no"

which is it?

everytime i think i've learned something i see it contradicted - does anyone know a definitive book/website/whatever to tell me what to eat ?!?!?!?

Unfortunately there is no definitive answer on what you should eat, just guidelines. Everyone's body is different and will react a bit differently to different foods. It is most important to watch your calories. If you like basmati you can probably eat it and still be okay. If you over eat anything that is where you will start to gain weight. What you should do is try basmati for a month and see where it gets you, then take it out and try brown rice or something else and see where that gets you. It takes awhile to know what your body does well with and what it does not.

Brown Basmati

I bought brown basmati rice at the grocery store last week - very yummy, just remember it takes longer to cook though.

i loooooooooooooooooove white rice!

especially with boneless skinless chicken, chinese noodles, and this sour sauce.

i can eat it though, because i'm only 14 years old. :)
