This poll is only for those who have attempted to lose weight before.

If either of these apply to you, what is your weight loss background?

A) I have reached my weight loss goal in the past, but then gained weight back

B) I have always given up my program and never reached my weight loss goal

Thanks :)

what's the point of this question? Are you doing a research paper?

my own answer
none of the above

I don't diet anymore....

I'm not on a program so there's nothign to give up it's alifestyle change that will allow me to get to a goal weight and a goal fitness level... but since it's not hard to follow or depriving me of anyhting -there's nothing to give up

^^ exactly how I am also!

Yes it's for research.

I sincerely hope your instructor has impressed upon you how utterly worthless and without value this kind of poll is. Selection bias is the least of your worries.

(I did the research track as a psych major in my first pass at school. You may as well be asking a Magic 8 Ball - it'll give you results every bit as valid.)

so with 8 posts it'snot like you've chosen to join this community - are you just here to gather research? if it's not for school -what's it for?

So both answers refer to failure... that's a little stupid. I never reached a goal in the past and FAILED to keep myself at that weight. I've never FAILED to stay on a program in the past, therefore never reaching my goal.

This is the first time I've attempted to lose weight. I ate what my parents fed me when I was growing up and had always been overweight. It's very difficult to change the very ways that you think about food.

Anyway, people who are overweight are not failures as your completely ignorant poll implies.

This is my first attempt to lose weight- so neither...

If this poll is not for school then what is it for?
I really think the community deserves an answer to this....

I wouldn't say either really applies to me either even though I have lost weight in the past and am now heavier. I never had a goal weight before because I was never really overweight until fairly recently. I just lost and gained depending on whether it was a sport season or I had the cash to blow on beer for a few months. :p My only other real weight loss journey was cut short by surgery in January. It's taken me the last 6 months to get rededicated.

I have reached my weight loss goal in the past, but then gained weight back, i just started a new wieght loss challenge though called the hcg diet using pregnyl injections and so far ive lost 50 lbs and not gained even 1 back and i can see it getting nothing but better from here. One of my friends is also doing the same thing she has a and has also lost lots of weight.

I failed at previous attempts, but once I made a decision to really lose the weight, I have been pretty successful. I have been losing slowly for 1.5yrs, and taken off 61lbs. I have not gained it back and know that I never will.
