Where to start?

Hi everyone, I'm kinda new to this whole fitness concept. I've been in decent shape my whole life but lately I've been wanting to improve it, I'm cutting my awful diet and I want to start exercising, mostly lifting weights, but I don't know where to start at all.

Any sort of help or advice would be greatly appreciated, but just as a heads up, I'm only 16 so a gym membership is out of the question, since (I think) all of them require a minimum age of 18 to join.

when I was your age (many many years ago!) I worked out in my basement. I didn't join a gym until I was 18. But I always returned to my basement and I even trained for powerlifting competitions in my basement. And I still train there now.

I would check out Craigslist and see if you can pick up some used weights cheap. And even if you can't afford that there are many body weight exercises and you can definitely get an intense, full body workout without weights.
