Right ok here's my story so far then!

Am 27 been overweight since i was 10yrs old or so. Recently got the chance to start a fresh in a new country and loved it but was aware even more so of my weight or excess of it. So started to watch what i was eating cutting back and due to the drastic climate change eliminated fizzy drinks and started to drink water like it was going out of fashion. So i dropped chocolate as well and started snacking on fruit etc.

Alas i had to come home as work visa's weren't organised and i was working illegally :(. So i dropped about a stone(14lbs) in a month of course came home and picked up my bad habits. put the stone back on in about 3weeks.

Thought right stuff this am goin back to Dubai in Sept and am not gonna go back this size.

So went to see my mate who has done weights all his days. So 3weeks ago i got my head in the game. So at 530am am up to meet him at the gym when comes off nights. And we do some light cardio for 30-45mins. Then about 330pm we go to the gym for some light weights where he's teachin me some excercises and i'm gettin into what i should be doing and how i should be doing it.

So in 10days of walking the dog more cutting back on what i'm eating and regular trips to the gym i've lost 19lbs well happy and i intend to stick with it until i go back to Dubai and will stick at it whilst am there :D.

Anyways hope to learn alot here really do Thanks for taking the time to read my post

Chris :D

Welcome Chris. Sounds like you're making good progress.

I'm fascinated that you'll live in Dubai. I've heard mixed things about living there as an ex-pat. What do you do there? How is it to live?

I loved my time there! The only problem i had was staying sober! Drinking 7days a week wasn't an issue. It really is bad for that! I can't wait to go back in sept

I'm a Dj to trade :D

Welcome to our forum.

It sounds like you have your head in the right place and are making great progress. You know that making sensible food choices mixed with exercise brings results because you can see it happening.

Look through the sections on exercise and nutrition to see how you can improve things.

The main problem is to retain the motivation that you currently have to see the job through. What you need to do is build a network of friends on the forum and that will help there.

The main ways of doing that are to start a diary and visit other people in their diaries to see what they are doing and leave a message for them when you visit.

Also it can be very useful to join a challenge. Check out the challenges section. Some deal simply with weight loss whilst others run more like a party game with direction for things to do to help you to lose weight. I am running the Summer Shake Up challenge and you would be more than welcome to join in there if you fancied the idea of a party game approach...

Either way - good luck with your continued weight loss.

welcome to the forum.

I'm still very new but I suggest starting a log everyday. I can't believe how much it has helped me stay with it and everyone is great about giving you a bit of motivation when you need it.

Thanks for the welcome guys! I kinda like the idea of extra motivation! Sometimes i need a kick up the back side to take the dog for a walk cos it's just easier to sit for 5mins then another 5mins etc etc. So today i went and bought a football and i'll play passy with the dog as well lol. He cant fetch it back he's only little haha so more exercise for me :D.

Anyway again thanks for the welcomes guys an girls
