Where to pin point with a tape measure

When you measure yourself because i hear thats more acurate on what you are loosing because you are gaining muscle as well. so my question, where do i measure along my body.

It depends on what your working on. If its fat loss, where from? ie 'I want to lose fat, I want to lose it from my waist though I am not so bothered (at the moment) about it going from my upper arms', or similarly if your weight training 'I want to build bigger bicepts but am not so bothered about larger calves'.

Measuring yourself, unless yout trying to for the specs for some leery old-style beauty comeptition, is done to boost your moral. Where are you most focused on changing?

The only hiccup with meausring I think is that you can sometimes hold the tension of the tape measure differently and so gain or lose a few cm or can measure in a slightly different place or can be water retaining one day and not the next....its a hard thing to focus 100% on so maybe measure but keep yourself from becomming overly dependant on a measurement!

I measure pretty much every major part: calves, thighs, hips, waist, chest (under breasts), chest (over breasts), lower arms and upper arms. Measure both left and right legs and arms seperatly. Some people also measure their neck.

As far as exactly where, I try to measure at the thickest point of each body part. Also, only take measurements once every couple weeks or so. Measuring too often will just waste time because the changes happen slowly.
