I am 32, male, 160kg, 184cm.
In May 2015 I started going to the gym after 7yrs of health neglect and becoming obese. I was determined to turn things around (also changing my diet). My trainers gave me increasingly harder programs of heavy weights and didnt care about aerobic exercise although i would do some on the side to help. I am going to the gym for 2-3hrs per day, 5-6 days per week. By December I had lost 20kg and was happy i was heading in the right direction. Dec-May my trainers got even tougher on the weights and suddenly I put all the 20kgs back on but i dont believe it was all muscle. That would sound like too much. My goal isnt to be super-muscular, its fat loss, and after a year, and being the same weight I started at, I have resorted to my own program. For the last 5 weeks I have been hitting the treadmill burning 1200-1400 cal per day. Every 2-3 days I do some weights to maintain muscle.
The thing is Im burning all these calories and eating reasonably well (intake of about 2000-2500cal) and losing nothing.
Ive had a general checkup and blood test with nothing serious found.
Im at a loss of what im doing wrong. So are my trainers.
