When will I see something? Anything?

Hello all, I'm new here, and I hope you can give me some advice.

I had a baby in May, and seriously, just took my time getting back into shape. I'm now 15 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight, and made my New Year's resolution to be more serious about it. I always run three times a week, eat basically what I want and stay steady weightwise. For the last 7 days, I feel that I"ve been eating really well:

Breakfast: oatmeal with walnuts
mid morning snack: yogurt and apple
lunch: 2 cups salad greens w/chicken or tuna
afternoon snack: pear and 1 oz cheese
dinner: lean meat, tons of veges
snack: popcorn (one of those 100 calorie bags)

Monday, Wednesday, FRiday, I"ve been running for 40 minutes. I typically do 3.5 miles in those 40 minutes. I run hard for 2 miles, then taper off until I hit the 40 minute mark.

Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday, I do 55 minutes of Taebo.

While I feel great, I've gained four pounds, and my pants are tighter than ever. What do I need to add, subtract, or adjust? I didn't expect immediate results, but I didn't expect to get bigger  Thanks so much!!!

hey hun. Well i havent a had a baby. But like all things u need 2 be patient, and try not to wait to hard for the results. Alot of the time u need to be unaware of whats happening to get the biggest 'wow' factor. I think as well with your diet, you shouldn't be snacking. Eat 3sensible meals each day, and still keep them healthy, but maybe the snacking is to blame? Good luck xxxx

patience it took 9 full months to get that way don't expect to have a perfect body so soon after.. trust me i have two boys of my own. clean diet and hard work. and time... you'll get there just keep at it.. :)

It took me about a year to lose the weight, but I had struggled for years.

The five small meals looks good. I would do more variety to your exercise and definitely add some weight training.

Having the baby may have affected your metabolism. Adding more muscle will help with that.

1) Eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day. Each meal should be 3-4 hours apart. Each meal should contain one protein and one carb.

2) Drink lots of water :)

3) Rest properly. This means taking at least 24-48 hours between strength training the same muscles, and it also means getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Lastly, it means taking 1-2 days off from exercising per week.

4) Cardio. This should be done at different intensity levels and different session lengths. Consider doing a low intensity/long session, a high intensity/short session and a few medium intensity/medium length sessions.

5) Strength Training. Strength train each muscle 1-3 times per week. You should lift a proper weight and perform the proper amount of sets/reps for your strength training method.

All of the above things combined will result in fat loss.

It is really hard to lose the baby weight, I had my son in June, and I have 35 lbs. left to lose and I can't seem to get it off. I don't know what to do, but it makes me a nervous wreck thinking about losing weight all the time. But your diet sounds really great like it will work, maybe you just need more time.
