Exactly! Couldn't've said it better myself. But, i have to add that if you are looking to build muscle or to work out heavily, that you must have something. Your body requires that easily accessible energy to maintain a heavy workout and to convert protein into re-building your muscle (which is what your body does to get bigger and stronger). If you are lifting weights and you don't eat, then your body will be searching protein from other parts of your body ... and the only real source is other muscle ... kind of a win-lose process.
