I was just wondering after how many pounds lost did you start to notice that you were getting smaller? I know I still have a long road ahead but I've gotten a few comments about looking like i've lost weight. Problem is I don't notice at all. I find it fustrating am I always going to see myself as over weight?

Hi, I started noticing after about 10lbs. It wasnt anything amazing but I noticed that clothes that were kinda tight were not so tight anymore but I wasnt really sure.... I thought I might be imagining it.

At 15lbs I really noticed a difference, my jeans were certainly more lose on me.

I suppose its going to depend on where your excess weight has gathered on your body and where you start losing it from. For example if you had lost weight around your arms and lower legs you are not really going to feel a huge difference in how clothes fit.

One good indicator is if you have been working out and your fitness level is increasing.

I can assure you that eventually you will start noticing it so just stick with what you are doing and try not get discouraged because you cant see the results at the moment.. give it time.

I haven’t noticed any change yet really – although as you say moodringgrl people have started to comment on changes (to my face mainly) – but that being said I had a pleasant surprise this morning. I got one of my ‘old faithful’ shirts out of the wardrobe this morning buttoned it up just before leaving for work and found it was a lot more roomy than last time I put it on :) to the point of being baggy! Time to dig out some smaller shirts :hurray:

Plenty more to go yet though, just keeping it moving in the right direction That’s the plan at least :D

You will notice changes, at some point, whether it be clothes, as with me this morning, or doing some task that was awkward before and is becoming easier – In fact now that I think about it I got some paperwork from out of the foot well of the car the other day, that would normally be a REAL challenge :) but managed it relatively comfortably.

At one point, I lost 30 pounds (190-160) and could barely tell a difference in myself until I looked at my before and after side by side. Having the same clothes on and having the picture taken from the same angle helped. I know personally that I never know how heavy I look until I see a picture of myself. I kind of always saw myself in the mirror as that 160 pound girl, so when I actually was 160, it looked the same to me. In reality, the difference was very obvious.

(Unfortunately, I've gained up to 205, but I'm down almost 15 pounds already.)

You definitely WILL start to see a difference in your body as you continue to lose weight- sometimes it just takes a while for our brains to catch up with our bodies.
