Whats your favorite healthy swap at restaurants now?

Now that I eat healthy I have been realizing just how easy it is to find tasty, low cal healthy swaps at different places.

I went to chili's for the first time since changing how I eat and I got the margarita chicken, instead of rice I got the steamed veggies which was broccoli without butter, and I ate half the servings of black beans. The chicken was grilled boneless, skinless breast and the entire meal was about 400 calories and had a low amount of sodium. I think that is a great swap if you are forced to go out with friend or whatever and don't want to have to either sacrifice your diet or stay home while your friends go out.

What is one of your favorite swaps at restaurants? :)
 
Pretty dull but I am tired of the sweetness of diet drinks. They're too sweet. So for a treat when we go out, I get carbonated water or club soda if need be. I find it refreshing and cleans the palate during meals. Whooppee huh? lol

I also try to replace my deep fried favourites with grilled items. For example....I love deep fried fish. ie cod. Unbelievable calories like (410 per serving and I swear I could eat 6 pieces on anyday! lol) and unhealthyness (516 mg sodium)(but delicious grrrr) lol. Now I get grilled fish with a salad. Squeeze some lemon on it and it wakes my mouth up. Also makes me feel better knowing its healthier.
 
:D That is a step in the right direction! I LOVE diet soda and don't think I will ever give it up until I am expecting since it is very bad for a developing baby, but man... I can't get enough... but I DO try to limit my consumption by adding like 90% of the cup ice and I only allow myself to refill the cup with water once I am done with the soda.

And, getting grilled instead of fried is such an amazing difference! It is crazy to know that we are turning 300-500 calories into a meal and at chilis one of their appetizers have over 1,000 calories! AHHH.

Chinese food -->I love General Tso sauce so i just get steamed shrimp and broccoli w/ brown rice and tell them to send me a side of that sauce instead of the regular Garlic sauce so i can control how much i use.
