What's the worse a week of relative inactivity could do?

I've been on a pretty tight schedule for the past month and a half or so. Five or six days out of the week I do 40 minutes of cardio plus 30 minutes of body weight work outs. So far I've managed to lose about eight pounds. I'm 173 lbs now and dropping.

However, my friends and I are taking a trip to Vegas Aug. 1 to Aug. 7. My physical activity will be limited to walking and sweating, and my diet will consist of restaurant food. I'm going to try to limit myself to lean meats and veggies, as much as I despise them compared to a good ol' fashioned juicy cheeseburger and fries. :drool5:

Anyway, I was wondering if it's going to seriously affect my routine when I get back. Can a week of laziness destroy over two months (by the time we leave) of a fairly active lifestyle? I would hate to find myself back at 181 lbs when I get back. The pounds have just been dropping off lately and I think that would just devastate me.

if you're doing nothing but restaurant eating -the scale will show an increase when you get back - due to excess sodium and other stuff... the hotel you're at will probably have a gym - maybe schedule some time there..

You don't have to eat just lean meats and veggies you can eat what you enjoy -just practice moderation... just because it's all available doesnt mean you have to eat it... if you want a burger -plan for it -have a lighter lunch or breakfast..

We need vacations. Try not to go too crazy. You may be surprised how many calories you burn on vacation. Especially if you have a sedentary job. Have fun, be sensible and get back on the horse when you get back.

Walking itself is great exercise. If you walk up and down the Strip, that's going to be about an hour-and-a-half of exercise.

Every hotel buffet has salads. Eat those instead of pigging out on prime rib.

Don't forget: booze has lots of calories, too. With casinos offering free drinks, you can consume a lot of calories quickly.
