Hi, I'm new and I wasn't really sure where to put this, so bear with me. LOL.

I'm just beginning to exercise and need something upbeat. A few of the one's that I really like right now are:

Paralyzer - Finger Eleven
Check Yes Juliet - We The Kings
How Far We've Come - Matchbox 20.

Any suggestions?

I think the song just dance by lady gaga would be good to run too. but that song isnt for everyone and you may just hate it haha I love we the kings by the way

what kind of music do you like? its really all about what puts you in a good mood. some songs that make me wanna run are so what by pink, womanizer by britney spears, any blink 182 song because i love them, the curse of curves by cute is what we aim for, I'm gone im going by lesley roy, and maneater by nelly furtado.

My music intrests are spread all over the place, from Elvis to Country to Fall Out Boy.

It's easier to say what I don't like. Rap, heavy metal, techno, etc.

I like : Country, Most Pop, rock, classic rock, etc.

Oh, I LOVE it! I tried running without music (Ipod was dead) and I couldn't even run for a full minute. A few days later and I was listening to music and ran through an entire song ( 3 1/2 minutes) without even feeling tired or out of breath. Both were at the same speed, incline, and everything. I'm just starting out and music really helps me.

I guess now that I think about it when I first started running on ellipticals and treadmills I did used to listen to something... once I started running outside (a long, long, long time later!) I ditched it though. It became a great time to just think and observe what was happening.

My roommate can't run without music though, and I know plenty of people who are the same.

I listen to whatever i love .. but i notice techno/trance anything with a fast bpm keeps you more pumped.... than say souls lol

I find it hard to jog without music too :toetap05:

My music depends on my mood or the day of the week. IE Sundays is gospel, if it is raining the blues, saturdays dance music, sunny days Ska...it all depends.

Agree 100%!!! My top 5 on my playlist that makes me wanna move fast is...

1) Britany Spears "Gimme more"
2) Flo Rida "In the Ayer"
3) Black Eyed Peas "Pump It"
4) B.T. "Simply being loved"
5) DJ Laz "Move Shake Drop"

I cannot do my cardio AT ALL, if dont have my music. MOtivation is the key. If you dont like hip hop, use whatever you like just so long as its upbeat and puts you in that speed zone.

I absolutely need music when I run. Anything with higher BPM's usually works for me :) It really gets me motivated to run!

A lot of Prodigy and any techno.

Mindless Self Indulgence is a good band to get you hyped up. Some interesting lyrics, but they sound great.

I have found that music with lyrics about running really helps me. Iron Man, by Sabbath, Stronger by Kanye West, Walkie Talkie Man by Steriogram, Born to be Wild by Steppenwolf, are just a few.

I've tried to run without music but I don't like to. I find that I'm listening to my body complain way too much when there is no music to drown it out.

well, i really feel shy sharing this with all of you here, i have somehow developed a likng for right said fred, and when i start my jog i start with his songs, specially 'stand up' my husband really makes a fun of me for this, and after the song i can go to any soft roch no. from chicago, britney, enrique etc...

you hit the nail right on the head .. when im jogging and a song changes and i hear my breathing and body sounds i kinda get freaked out, casue no way i could listen to that day in day out ... and sometimes when you out of juice and the right song comes on you find that extra strength to puch a little harder..

:driving:

i was lookin for songs last night to add to my ipod and came across this site linked to the biggest loser site, seems to be ok prices for the music they had, some seemed alittle expensive like $10 for 7 songs on some of the playlists but just search around. You can search by beats per minute, which exercise your doing ect.. workoutmusic.com

the only thing i didnt like on most of the lists were its usually not the original artist singing, its covers set to really up beat music...

There is a podcast called Wild Workouts at Noon. It's free and they update it weekly. It's about a 40 min playlist with a good mix all mixed and some mashups. Good to keep a steady beat. Also, if you don't like it, just erase. :D

Okay guys you're going to think I'm really weird BUT:

If you're going for an outdoor uplifting fast-paced run, the best song ever is In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel. I know, I know, really lame, but TRY it and you'll see! The pacing is perfect!

Other than that, I usually can't work out unless I'm listening to gangster rap. Or songs like Hung Up - Madonna or Fergalicious - Fergie.
