What up?

Hi everyone, this is my first post here, I just wanted to say what a great site this is. Everyone seems very helpful here.

Just a quick background on myself, I'm 29 years old and I'm ready to start taking fitness seriously. I live in New Orleans, and after Hurricane Katrina I let my weight get out of hand, I'm 5'9 and my weight shot up to about 320 lbs. I did nothing but sit around and play online video games all day and eating horrible Chinese food, I was truly miserable. Back in January I decided it's time for change, I started dieting and occasionally exercising. I'm now down to 257 lbs and feeling much better about myself now.

My goal weight is to be a fit 200 lbs so I still have a ways to go. I recently joined a full service gym and have been going every day, weight training and running mostly. I have some questions about my workout regiment and my diet that I'll post in the appropriate forums. I look forward to hearing from ya'll!

Hi Brian

Well done for what you've achieved so far, it looks like you're doing well. It always well worth reading the stickies in each forum section for some hints and tips

63 pounds is a helluva start. Congratulations. It'll get tougher the lower you go, but there are some wise folks here - present company excluded - to lend a hand. Good luck.

Yup! There will be no contrary shlup as Fitness.com is the measuring Cup

(shlup=noise definition)
