i`m starting to worry about what i`ll eat when i stop my diet, i`m 20 pounds away from my goal but i`ve been at it so long i dont have a clue what i`ll be able to eat when i finish.

trial and error sounds risky.

Um... probably about the same things you're eating now, and add in a few extra treats.

Not knowing what you eat now makes it hard to give advice though... For me when I go back to maintenance I'll basically eat the same way I do on my 'higher cal' days. I.e. I'll eat more of the potato when I get a skillet meal, I'll make more bread (at least in my head I think this), I'll get snacks/treats more often... but start adding them in very slowly and monitor weight as I do so.

There's no way I can just eat whatever I want after the fact but unless you're losing 5 lbs a week, chances are your maintenance won't be that much more than what you're eating now. Soooo, I hope you like the way you're eating now!

yeh i like the way i`m eating now, lost 4lbs 2 weeks this month. surely if i`m loseing 4lbs a week i`ll be able to treat myself more. some cheese at weekends would be nice and not feeling to bad after a booze sesh. also pasta can come back on the menu.

Yeah, I think the best thing to do is just be gradual. Don't have booze and cheese and pasta every day, all week long ;)

But I agree, you should be able to eat more (quantity wise) and also add in some things you normally skip. I tend to think of it as increasing the frequency of my 'freebies' where I let myself be more relaxed about eating. So grabbing some extra cheese as a snack (and actually buying it!) or making something more calorie dense... For example, I've been experimenting with baking, but only every other week until I'm back on maintenance. ... Mmmm, pasta. With cream sauce. And parmesan and ... I'm hungry!
