Suppertime depends on when we ate lunch, and how hungry I am...and if I am hungry, I will have a small snack around 7:30. Then that's it, even if I'm hungry, like now
^ I agree, a lot of those seem really early. Maybe that's because I don't get home from uni till 6.30 or 7 most nights. So my last meal for the day is usually anywhere between 6pm and 11pm depending on what's going on.
Does having a cut off time like 3 or 4 hours before going to bed help? If it does I might try not eating after 9 or something like that.
My family usually haves dinner around 18:00, and thats also the hour of my last full meal. Sometimes when I get like, really hungry, I'll have a piece of fruit or a rice cake. I try not to eat anything 3 hours before bedtime, cause then I'll go to sleep on an empty stomach wich I heard is best for you.
Hey, I usually eat dinner as soon as I get in from skl about 4pm, but it's usually something like a bowl of cereal or something "unusual" like that.
Is eating dinner earlier rather than later better for you then?
I don't usually eat anything after 9PM, but I don't actually pay attention all that much. I don't go to bed full or anything, but I will frequently eat a snack in the evening. Is there some reason this is that bad? Your metabolism slows down that much?
I'm asking out of ignorance mostly. I've always heard not to eat a whole meal before bed, but a snack that stimulates your metabolism in the evening can be a good thing. I seriously doubt I heard that from a credible source tho..lol.
I absolutely have to force feed myself breakfast, and I'm usually cranky from being hungry in the evening. I wonder if some people are more nocturnal eaters.
Our last meal is usually around 7:00p, since my dad works late. Plus a snack before bed, but never past 8:00p. I usually go to bed aroun 12a or 1a. (night owl!)
I eat every three hours after breakfast (which currently I am getting in at around 8:30a) So that means I will eat at 8:30, 11:30, 2:30, 5:30, 8:30, and when I'm hungry again ;-)
The thing to remember is that eating is necessary! These meals aren't always that much. Maybe only a 150 cal snack or could be a 600 cal protein shake. No answer is perfect and like stated previously, everyone is different. Since I am lifting and doing cardio 6-7 days a week, I need that many meals to get all the protein I need. Hence, my late night dinner will be mostly protein based. I don't need any carbs since that will give me energy and don't want that if I plan on sleeping ;-)
And always remember, nutrition is only part of the lifestyle, exercise and activity is the other. Eating after a certain time won't make you fat, but eating the wrong stuff at the worse possible time (ice cream before bed) will.
But what do I know??? I'm just like all of you figuring out my own body's twisted functions.................
Lets just say you go to sleep at 11pm. Your body is awake without for 5 hours then shuts down for the night. This is a great way to lose lean muscle tissue and if that happens you will be left look drawn out and not healthy at all. It's a step backwards if fat loss is your goal.
