What the Hell???

Ok, gotta a question:

I've been workin my legs with the HammerStrenght V-Squat for about 4 months now. Lately I've seen some great gains in strenght, but now it doesn't seem like I'm even gettin a good work out. 2 weeks ago, I could just get out 4 sets of 12 reps with a 35 pd plate on each side. Last week, I moved up to 45 pounds on each side, and failed out 4 sets of 12. This week, I did 45 easily, so I added 20 pounds per set and failed out at 65. Though I got tired, my quads didn't swell like they normally do, and I didn't feel anything the next day. Doesn't feel like I worked my legs at all! In fact, I added deadlifts to my routine, cause my hammy's didn't feel worked.

What's the problem? Is my body just used to the V-Squat machine? Should I go to bar squats?

Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks.

I've never heard of a Vsquat machine, how about you just do regular squats and front squats?

This is the V-Squat:

When I use hammer strenght it's so I can maintain proper form.

Is is simply that I plateaued? In the past, all I had to do to break through plateaus was add more weight, but hell, I ain't 20 anymore...

Sometimes you use up an exercise, the body adapts. I think you need to try regular squats, once your form is good, you'll make great gains. After a few months of squating, then try front squats.

after you workout for a while you dont get as sore. soreness is not a indicator that you have gotten a workout, im usually never sore the day after my workouts. Regular squats is better as you use more stabaliser muscles with the movement, i would give them i a try if i were you.

I agree with mreik and karky. In addition, change up your rep scheme as well. If you are doing 12 reps for every set, try to do one or two sets of a few less reps, or the last one of more, etc. Tweaking small things can change quite a bit sometimes.
