what the ef???!?!?!

My brother's friend in high school, Don, was a varsity wide receiver. The dude could flat out fly! Never worked out except for football practice. Super cut - abs to die for.

Fast forward 32 years: 300+ lbs., bad heart, Type II diabetes - will be dead within 10 years.

Yes, youth is all you need early on, but when it is gone and you have not taken care of yourself, there will be he11 to pay.

Thats sort of encouraging to hear. Will the dieting we do at a young age eventually pay off? or is it better to take advantage of our young age?

Dieting and being picky about every little thing you eat is almost worthless when you're young. The reason "Don" is in the state he's in now is because he wasn't smart or wise enough to stop when things started going bad. Being in that ****ty a state takes years of declining health coupled with poor habits. It's good that you care and are trying to attain knowledge at this young age. That's great. Get some good habits down, learn how your body reacts to things, but don't be afraid to deviate because you have a LOT of leeway at this stage in your life. If you want to enjoy your youth as a stud, then you're going to have to pack muscle on. Only way to do that with a fast metabolism and limited resources is to eat big. Or you can be jealous and hate for the next fifteen years, and wait to be vindicated for being a nitpicker.

Dieting? That word has all kinds of negative connotations for me. If by dieting you mean cutting calories to lower fat then I think you're on the wrong path. You're 6'2" and 160lbs, you need to gain a bit of weight to be at optimal health. You can still eat healthy and have surplus calories

Sorry for the misunderstanding. By "dieting" I meant "eating healthier". I AM trying to gain weight because I am WAY too skinny. I'm trying to eat more healthy stuff but its hard because as LeiYunFat said my ressources are "Limited". LeiYunFat basicly answered my question. I am trying to gather as much information possible and trying to eat cleaner foods(cut down on sodas, chips and total junk food). But as I don't have total control over all my meals its not all healthy. I am happy to that at a young age we "have a LOT of leeway at this stage in your life".

Some people just have very good genetics. Chad Johnson (NFL wide receiver) is 6'1 and (supposedly) weighs 193. He looks more like 160-170 to me. He's very thin and ripped. He claims to eat fast food all the time. I saw an interview with him where they spent a whole day with him. He got up first thing in the morning and went to the McDonald's drive thru (in his bathrobe no less LOL) and got hotcakes, a sausage mcmuffin with egg, hash browns and orange juice.

Hell I eat a lot more calories than most people my size and activity level. Metabolism rates can vary

of course...

I thought everyone had abs?? But sometimes there is a layer of fat, that stops it from showing???

smart ass...
