What system are you using?

I just started but I'll tell you what I'm doing

Diet:

Most educated people on here will advise you to eat more smaller meals throughout the day (4-8) to keep your metabolism up. I personally eat five but i think that more is better if your lifestyle allows it. I keep each meal around the same number of calories and try to have some protein, carbs, fat, and a veggie or fruit at each (usually a fruit in the morning and then a veggie/salad in my later meals). You should reduce your calories according to how much fat you want to lose- be careful not to go to low and end up in starvation mode. I'm trying the 'zig zag' method were I eat reduced calories for 3 days and then my mantainence level on the fourth to keep my mantainence level up (There's a thread on that in this weight loss forum). You can find out roughly how many calories you need to lose weight, maintain etc. using free online calculators. And of course it's important to make these meals healthy and natural food and not junk.

Tips:
- Drink lots of water throughout the day (2-4 L) ((Very Important :) ))
- Make sure there's some protein in your morning meal (ps. Don't skip breakfast! Very bad.)
- Avoid highly processed food
- Check out the healthy recipes section or read around the forum for some ideas on healthy meals

Workout:
For working out I do a full body circuit of weight lifting, etc (my routine is in the toning section if you want to check it out) 3 times a week with rest day(s) in between. On the in between days I do intense cardio three times a week (usually a sort of interveral on the ellipitcal and then some stairmaster after). I take one day a week workout free to rest- although i often go on a nice walk or something but nothing intense.

Tips:
- Changing up your routine can help keep it interesting and keep you from entering a 'plateau'
- Make sure you don't overwork or strain yourself particularly when weight lifting- knowing your form and how much weight you can handle is important.

I hope to let you know my results once I've been on this for awhile.

There's many other people on here with great programs, successes and who are very inspirational. So hopefully they'll give you some tips but remember you can always just read through the forum (more than just the most recent page- there's sooo much great information)

Hope this helped and good luck!!!

Hey there. Haven't posted in quite some time.

What I did and lost like 20 pounds with was as mentioned above

1.) Eat like 5-6 times per day, smaller meals, with a healthy variety of foods. Don't starve yourself, and you don't HAVE to give up every bad food, just eat it once in awhile - trust me, this will keep you happy

2.) Drink lot's and lot's and lot's of water. You will be going to the bathroom a lot at the start, but eventually, your body will get used to the fact it has a steady supply, and will stop storing so much of it

3.) Exercise. Do something you like, at LEAST 3 times a week. I try for five times a week at least. Running, walking, weights ( I am doing the MAX-OT weight training - which is insane and it works like you wouldn't beleive... i think there is apost, besides mine concerning it )

Keep active and the changes in your eating style / life style will do wonders in a few short months, the healthy, proper way to do it

I used a very simple method. I lost 90lbs since april.

Cut out ADDED sugar and salt
Find new favoirite foods.
Find a fun activity.

I used to eat double whoppers with cheese, no tomato, no pickle, king size like twice a week. Now I go nuts over a good salad with gorganzola and LOTS of tomatos.

Have a baked potato or mashed potatos instead of french fries.

I also bought a bicycle and had time to ride alot during the summer and during the winter I can focus on getting in shape to ride again. I might try mountain biking next year.
