What now?

I am male, 5'7" and weigh 152.

I used to work out 6 days a week:

At least 30 min. of cardio 6 days a week. (Hart rate at 70-80 %)

Weight training : 6 days a week (each body part twice)

----------------------------------------------------

I started a new job, 5-6 days a week 10-12 hr days that has me standing the whole time and doing other physical work. (But nothing that gets the heart rate up)

This leaves me too tired to go to the gym, I have completely stopped.

I am not sure how to modify my work out.

Hi iwijetunge,

I'm gonna run by a few ideas, tell me how you feel about each one;
You could get your cardio by how you commute to and from work.
If you have a bike and its not too far, or cycle in conjunction with public transport.
Jogging to and/or from work is another option.
You could use your lunch break to exercise.
Join a class thats held near where you work that you can do after your shift(or before depending on your shift)
If there is an oval near where you work, go for a quick jog there before either heading home or before starting work.
Look for a gym close your work place.

My hunch is that you need to make time early in your day when your fresh for exercise.

I hope this helps, please tell me what you think about these options.

Thanks for the reply.

I have always had sit down jobs. Standing/working 12 hrs a day is hard to get used to. My legs especially knees hurt. (Does not help that I have had ACL reconstructions on both knees)

Biking to/from work might be a workable idea. Since I have to be at work at 6:00 am, the morning commute will be cool, but I will have to deal with the heat going back.

It's pretty hot here in TX so I avoid too much out door stuff.

My goal is to have a healthy heart and get rid of some fat around the mid-section.
