What is your weekly goal?

What do all use as a weekly target for weight loss? 2 lbs? 1 lb? Less? Just curious, I have had trouble losing 2 lbs a week thus far. I'm keeping at it, though. :)

instead of looking to the scale as a goal - set other goals - like eating within a calorie range... or something fitness related...

Multiple goals, obtain at least one.

I have a calorie goal.
A exercise goal.
and a weekly weight loss goal.
I'm trying to stick between 1000 and 1500 calories per day, I'm trying to make sure I either swim a mile or two, or work on toning my muscles every day, and I'm trying to lose at least 1 lb per week so I can meet my weight loss goal by my boyfriend's birthday next year.

Has doing this helped you from becoming obsessed with what the scale says? I find myself running into that problem often.

My only goal is to make sure I get to the gym and stay within my caloric limits. Scales scare me as weight fluctuates so I like to rely on how my clothes fit and such. I intend to get measuring tape soon.

Yup - the scale is not a really good predictor of how you're doing... so by focusing on other goals - the scale becomes a lot less important...

I do tend to get caught up in the scale. I weighed 213 on friday and yesterday I weighed 218. It always goes up and down. I try to do 2-3 lbs a week. The most I have lost in a week lately was 5. My 21st b-day is in 2 weeks and I'd like to hit the 200 mark but I don't know ifs thats going to happen. We shall see. I'll only be able to get to the gym 3 times this week : ( I have so much going on. Its normally 5 times.

i measure mysef and weigh myself , i gotta say i only seem to care about the scales :willy_nilly: , it seems to move quicker..... i know technically may not make sense , but to me it does!!! , i aim for 2lbs a week , but 7 weeks in -i am averaging about 2.7lbs wooooo :hurray:

I have daily calorie goals because if I dont keep track I usually fall way short. Weekly I have workout routine goals. Completing a certain distance running at a certain speed, or doing a certain number of reps with a certain weight for a particular muscle group.

I check the scale every couple weeks and sometimes see 3-5lb weight loss. Usually I notice my cloths and stuff fitting better so I do not need to check the scale.

I don't have weekly weight loss goals, because at my current weight I am finding it very difficult to lose any weight.

So I am concentrating on fitness goals. I aim to run 4 times a week and increase the difference every week.
