What is your snack at work?

Luckily I have access to a fridge full of food at work so I usually just make myself a sandwich with carefully selected filling, but I like to buy the "snack-a-jacks" stuff (like a back of the lil bagels or something) to have if I'm really stuck. You can get "snack-a-jack" products all over the UK but I'm not sure whether they are in the US too, so that would depend where you live. :)

Usually a random piece of fruit... an apple, orange, banana, etc. Sometimes a small granola bar or trail mix. Depends on what I can find laying around the house. If at all possible I eat a banana mid-morning and either an apple or orange mid-afternoon.

Because I'm eating to strength train (not to lose weight at the mo), I'm eating so many meals and drinking so much water that I don't have the time or hunger to fancy a 'snack' often (what with trying to fit in regular lean proteins, five portions of fruit/veg, good fats and fibre each day) - but some of my 'meals' are basically snacks anyway. Having said that then fruit (apple, pear, satsuma etc), oat bar, a boiled egg, or a packet of beef jerky are my faves. If I was eating to cut, then, well, probably the same but as part of my calorie allowance.

10 or 15 almonds
a handful of pumpkin seeds
a Lara bar (love these, fruits and nuts, no additives)
a banana

You can make turkey rolls. Take turkey lunch meat and spread seasoned cream cheese and some diced green onions. Roll them up and cut them into bites. They are delicious and healthy. I also eat tuna with whole wheat crackers and celery with a little peanut butter.

fruit + 6 almonds
raw veggies + lf string cheese
kashi energy bar
hard boiled egg whites

anything with some protein!

Well even though I work at a restaurant I ALWAYS bring my own snacks to wrok so I don't eat what we have (not a very healthy place)
I take peanuts, sf jello, pretzles, a mini bag of popcorn, granola bars, carrots, apples, 100 cal snack packs like oreo or chips ahoy, ect....hope to have helped.

I try to have some protein with my snacks - the usual ones for me are:

1) Banana and some plain, raw almonds;
2) Baby carrots and cottage cheese;
3) Small can of tuna and 4-5 reduced fat crackers

Otherwise, it may be a piece of fruit on its own...apple, banana, orange or pear.

i was keepin granola bars or cocovia bars in my desk for afternoon snacks, til i actually read the labels - and found HFCS as an ingredient - i got kashi tasty little chewie bars this week -and i'm not sure i like them.

Almonds in single serve packets are my favorite choice- especially wasabi almonds

the worst time of day for me

Snacking at work is my #1 problem. It really doesn't help to have a convenience store next door).

But when I really put my mind to things, which I've been getting better and better at lately, here are some snacks I bring:

- celery and peanut butter (or light cheese whiz, or Laughing Cow cream cheese)
- trail mix (peanuts and raisens)
- fruit (apple, orange or banana)

And of course, I keep a big bottle of water by my side.

My snacks of choice for work at the mo are; a low-fat yoghurt, a piece of fruit, or a packet of diet-friendly "crisp" type snacks, such as mini-ryvitas. :)

I keep a stash of 100-calories packs in my drawer that way I am curbing hunger but not getting caught up in work and not paying attention to how many chips I am eating. I used to do that!:(

Hello to all!! I am new to the site...my boyfriend found the site when he was looking for information to help me in my weight loss journey...he has been a great influence for me, and I have gotten a lot of useful information from all of you while checking out this site...I have joined a gym and love going!! My boyfriend bought me a pedometer for Christmas and I love it!! We have been going on walks every weekend...he went and bought a pedometer for himself too...and I use it during the week while I am at work and am purposely taking extra steps at work to reach the 10,000 step a day rule...I have even gotten a couple of my friends at work to walk with me instead of taking a coffee break!! Of course, there is the healthy eating too...I am eating healthier than ever and have lost quite a few inches so far...not too much as far as pounds but I am defenitely smaller...which was hard for to understand--how can I be smaller but not have lost a lot of pounds?? But my trainer and my boyfriend, and from what i have read on here--muscle is more compact than fat and takes up less space...my percentage of fat has gone down and the muslce percentage has gone up, so that is a sign that things everything is working...

I also bring the pre-packaged small bags of almonds to work with me, they are great because they are pre-measured and you don't have to worry about possibley eating too many..I also buy large bags of trail mix and protion it out into 1/4 cup servings in baggies and bring those with me...and of course, there is always fruit!!

Good luck to everyone in your journey!! Am looking forward to learning more from all of you to help me with my journey!!
