What is your single biggest challenge to lose weight?

I know most of us have multiple issues when it comes to overeating, but what one single item is your biggest obstacle?
Some people think it's weird when I tell them that my biggest problem isn't eating enough!
(Not keeping track of how much I eat is my 2nd biggest problem)
If I don't eat about 1/2 days worth of food by around 2 PM, the munchies usually sneak up behind me and club me on the head :smash: (a good excuse to use that smiley!)
When I'm hungry at work or after work, I'll go to the nearest food source, which is almost always terrible, terrible food from the vending machine or a fast food place.
So, I have to make sure I eat enough before I go to work, and bring healthy and FILLING foods with me when I'm at work. Drinking enough water is always a big help too.

Interesting...

I have two biggies:

1) Eating out of boredom

2) Wanting convenience food. I don't really like to cook, so I just want to grab-n-go. Unfortunately, most fast food is very unhealthy.

Hardest thing for me that I mentioned in another thread is hunger. I notice I get hungry and reach my calorie limit for the day far too soon. I attempt to pace myself with my calories but I simply give in to the hunger too early. Then the late night cravings hit me intensely causing me to over eat.

One of the things annoying me the most these days is... what shall I call it... social eating? If I'm visiting someone and they offer me cakes or sweets, or if I'm hanging out with friends who decide to buy candy. Then I cave in.

My mouth! lol I love food and love the experience of eating out, the reality that eating out makes achieving my goal impossible has finally sunk in.

Social eating: restaurants or dinner parties. I love food and I love wine. Especially good food and good wine, :)

I'm trying to limit social eating until I reach my goal. A bit boring but it certainly pays of.

My crappy metabolism. I can gain weight on 1300 a day!

That, and boredom eating in school holidays. I need structure, routine and to be too busy to eat.

Mine are:

Eating when I'm just thirsty, and

Eating because I'm bored.

I'm trying the Paul McKenna CD and book and I'm learning to recognise hunger pangs and thrist needs. I still struggle with the boredom though, especially after work when I don't feel I have the energy to do much but chill out in front of the telly.

When a food tastes really good to me, that little mechanism in my body that says "I'm full" turns off and I can eat myself sick.

(.

I am the same although I can go till about 3pm until having anything to eat as i start work early and don't eat breakfast, I have my dinner about 6ish and then usualy hungry again before bed.
My obstacles are savoury food & wine.

I have a few too:
1) Moderation doesn't work with me - I can't stop after 1 or 2
2) Eating before bed - I have it in my mind that I need something before I can go to sleep at night.

I think my biggest problem is I eat when im bored. Or if ive just gone shopping and bought some goodies in, ill eat some even when I dont really want them, just because they're there :/

You know, only one person so far has said that they eat because they feel hungry!
Are we allowing food to control us? If somebody tried to make us eat against our wishes, would we let them?
When would now be a good time to say "you know, I am in charge. I'll decide what to eat"

Eating just cuz it's there or out of boredom etc., and scott same here, alcohol!
During the playoffs this past sunday, it was very hard not to stuff my face with junk and chug down endless beers, but I did great. I had two beers and a baked chicken sandwich and enjoyed the games lol

I have come to the conclusion that I must be psychologically addicted to all things that taste good: pizza, kebab, pies, deep fried foods, chocolate, candy, cookies, chips, sugar, peanuts etc. In addition, I'm not completely satisfied feeling full only feeling really full.

Emotional eating! I also have a problem with throwing out food so if it's on my plate, I have to eat it! Lately I've been using smaller plates for smaller portions and it's working out perfectly! And if I get emotional, I drink a cup of tea.

Travelling...especially going to visit family. Both my family and my wife's family are big eaters and not healthy stuff either. Always wanting to go out to eat too. They do not make it easy even when you try to tell them.

I also travel with my job and have a lot of meetings with food. Morning meetings, lunch meetings, meetings throughout the day, and a lot late at night.
