What is your motto to keep you going

I thought I would start a thread to see what everybodies (if you have one) motto is in helping you keep going in you adventure to a better you.


Here is mine:

FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION

So lets see them. What is your motto to help keep you going.
 
I'm not sure if I have a cut and dry motto--but if I do, it'd be "If they can do it, so can I!" which is why I LOVE those Before and After pictures! As well as all the tickers and success stories floating around. Plus, I'm very arrogant about my abilities, hehe.

I have written myself a notepad file of congratulations, mockery, abuse, and general tough love.

A few highlights...

"If you can't be stronger than these cravings, then you don't DESERVE to lose weight off your fat ass. "

"You've made tremendous progress. Why mess it up now?"

"You want to be like all those other cows, I mean, women, who live by self-assuring delusions and orgasm at the sight of a chocolate bar?"

And so far, it's worked better than any motivation method I've ever tried.
 
My personal motto when I'm trying to accomplish something is:

"Fuck the weaklings..."

Meaning, nobody is going to stand in my way of doing what I want because I'm stronger and more determined than they are.

From a personal point and current experience, I like your way of thinking CCT. I have been seeing that alot from a select few immediate relitives.
 
I like the old Yankee wisdom my late grandfather used to dole out.

I once said "I wish I could eat like that and not get fat." His response: "You can wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which one fills up first."

Another time I said "I've tried dieting but it just doesn't work." His response: "If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas."

I think of those snappy responses frequently. I just wish he was still around to see how helpful they were to me!

I really like this one...I am currently losing weight by participating in a biggest loser challenge at the school where I teach. Several of the participants have not really tried that much, and they haven't been succeeding, where I and a couple of others have been doing well. I have lost 15+ pounds and hopefully more soon! ANyway, they sometimes make little comments or "jokes" about the contest, etc...and it is hard not to be personally insulted. But, I just need to remember that motto...I AM doing this for myself...not those dropouts!

i used to like...

nothing tastes as nice as being slim feels...

but now it just annoys me...

death by chocolate cake??/those gorgeous new cookies from dominoes???/cheese of ANY/EVERY type on EVERYTHING???!!!!

whoever first said that bloody quote was NOT a foodie!!!!

theres a few sigs on here that i really like...
familyweeses one & the road/town one...

& a quote left by schwa on my diary...

you may delay but time will not
so i'll say thats my new motto!!



plus off topic a bit...but i listen to music ALL the time...i use it to lift my spirits too when feeling a little low...



listened to this A LOT lately...its the song off the new adidas ad...how could anyone not want to dance to this or just :jump::jump::jump: about!!

its weird but listen to the clip & watch the jumpy smilies they jump in time to the tune exactly!!! :)

I have two that I like to use:

"It is by will alone I set my mind in motion."

and

"If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing badly."

Some people don't get that second one, so I will translate: If it is worth doing, it is worthwhile even if you are having difficulties, or if it isn't going well, or if you just plain suck at it.
