Rob is right, of course! In the end the only difference between weightloss strategies is how they make the caloric deficit bearable. Fat and protein help you feel full for long. High-water foods (fresh fruit and veg) help you have a full plate for not a lot of calories so they can help with not feeling deprived. High-fiber carbs (if you choose to eat carbs) will give you less of a blood sugar spike than refined carbs so you tend to get less of a crash afterwards. Herbs and spices make your food more interesting for pretty much no calories and we know that varied food helps us feel full more quickly than something we have the same way often.
