What is ideal

everything depends on different variables... but I'm asking what everyones individual answer is, there is no correct answer to this question

For someone who is not obese - 2lbs.

For someone who is obsese it can be around 5lbs but again, MANY variables come into play here.
 
To me, a healthy weight loss is up to 3 lbs a week. I'm not knocking more poundage loss per week, but wonder how much of that would actually be fat and not muscle or water weight. One thing I don't get, though, is how some of those contestants on the Biggest Loser TV show can lose 10+ lbs in a week and still look healthy week after week.

Obese individuals can lose a lot more fat than their thinner counterparts. As I have been trying to say in many posts... physiology is a bit different when it comes to obesity.

What is the point of the question then? I am not downing you, I just want to know why you are asking, if you already know that there is no answer.

What would you see if everything you know did not exist? The world was not here. There was no such thing as color. There was no such thing as clear.

What would it be?

Thanks for the info! Sadly, I am obese and I'm being constantly fussed at to only lose the "healthy" 1-2 lbs a week. I don't mind it, a loss is a loss, but now if I did manage to do better, I can tell those peeps to chill. :D
 
other than the above answers - the most consistent answer i've found after researching it (after i got fussed at for consistently losing 3-4 lbs a week) is that 1 percent of your body weight is reasonable.
