What else can I do?

I started this "life transformation" 14 weeks ago (May 11th). I have only missed 3 days at the gym. I go every day and work for 1-1 1/2 hours doing the machines (15 to 18 machines--6 reps of 10 each) followed by 30 minutes on the stationary bike. I eat no more than 1500 calories a day. I really though i would lose 8 pounds a month but so far have only lost 20 pounds. Does anyone else have this problem? I am frustrated.

You lost 20 lbs in 14 weeks, and you're frustrated???

That's a pretty good, steady loss, I don't see where the problem is to be honest. You don't want to lose too fast, you'd only be setting yourself up for failure that way.

I think you're doing well, and should continue that way - slow and steady wins the race.

I agree with the response about slow and steady. If you are a woman, you are in a fat burning state and this is about the best you can hope for (I can say that, I am a woman). If you are a man, you could lose faster, but you would have to cut calories more and exercise less in order to mobilize fat. What you are doing sounds great and you are getting results, so don't worry about it. Your changes will stick and you will be able to sustain your resuts.

The weight is going down. I know it may seem slow, but it is going down. So you worry too much about what you're doing, because obviously is working.

The only thing I can suggest is upping the intensity at the gym or varying your workout. Do different exercises that work your muscles in different ways, go on the treadmill instead of the bike. Those are a couple of ways you could burn a few more calories to help you lose more.

But 20 pounds is a great accomplishment and you should not be frustrated. You're doing well, keep up the good work results will continue to come in.

I think a treadmill would prob be better then a bike unless you are in actual spin classes.

I was gonna get a stationary bike for home ended up getting a treadmill and I couldn't be happier. after 14 weeks are you doing the same routine? are you upping the resistance on the bike? If you are in the habit of doing the same thing all the time, this may be the reason why you aren't seeing the results you want. Though losing 20 pounds is nothing to be upset about :)

If I understand correctly, in the past 14 weeks you have worked out every single day for 1.5 to 2 hours per day doing 15-18 machines and 6 sets on each machine????

If I were you, I would dramatically reduce the time spent in the gym. Using 15-18 machine is inefficient and not necessary. 45 minutes of weight training gives you plenty of time for a very intense training. Make sure you are increasing the weights that you use whenever you can. You need to train HARD.

You are not doing your body a favour by never taking a day off. Build in 2 rest days per week. Your body needs rest. Remember that muscle don't grow in the gym - they grow when you rest.

As for the cardio, I agree with the others, increase the intensity, do something different than usual.

Actually, after 14 weeks of non-stop training you should consider taking a whole week off. Your body will love it and you will get better results afterwards.

Good luck.

You're actually doing fantastic! So you're losing just under 1 and 1/2 pounds per week. That's actually accelerated in a lot of people's eyes, who are aiming for 1 pound a week. Try to not get frustrated, remember that this is about changing who you are for the rest of your life, so if it takes an extra couple months to make your goal, that is completely alright.

Good luck!

You are doing great, and what you are achieving is really, as many people have already said, very good in terms of weight lost. don't forget all that time in the gym will also have added muscle, which weigh more than fat!
Do you also measure your hip? Some weeks when I train hard I only lost 1lb but more than a cm on the hip!
Keep up the great work!
