My mother is out of the country taking care of her mother until she passes. her return ticket is for late may. im thinking try to lose 20lb by then to suprise her when she gets back.
 
I think it's a great idea. Not only would it mean a lot to her to see you happier and healthier, but it would also give you a reason to stay focused and consistent.

If you decide to go for it, just remember to start thinking/planning for how you'll live/behave after your mom returns. If you don't include that, chances are the weight loss will be temporary.

I think you should lose the weight for yourself and not for someone else...

but depending on where you're starting out 20lbs in 2 months is entirely possible.. or at least you'd get pretty close to 20lbs...

Just don't do some crazy crash dieting method - that's not effective long term - put a plan into place and use late May as your mini goal
