what do you do?

Well....

Well, if you typed for an hour, you'd burn (lessee....)

102 calories per hour

Doesn't that make it worthwhile now? :)

i do not do biceps and triceps on the same day. but when working triceps your biceps are worked secondarily and same vice versa. but you gotta remember one is to push and one is to pull. and if you did them both the same day and pushed them hard u'd be dead the next and ur arms would be useless.

but thats my thoughts. dissect it as u ay....

It's just that I've always heard that was the way to work the muscles. It's what I do. I heard that it stretches them too - so that you are not as sore.

Pairing agonist with antagonist muscles is certainly one way of structuring a routine. It is not the only way.

That said, if I had to pick the least effective 'way' to train, it'd be one part per week training. That philosophy simply doesn't match how our bodies respond to training in terms of stress and recovery.

Well I don't weight train like I should. But I do usually do the opposing muscles, just because I had heard it helps with the soreness. I don't know though - so that's why I asked.

That's assuming you are continually typing - I wonder how many calories you burn from reading and typing? LOL

In response to the original question:

I ride my bike to work everyday. It's 7 miles exactly with 3 hill climbs/descents. The ride home is a little more difficult than my ride to work. As of yesterday, I'm also trying to get about 5 miles in at lunch... The ride also does a lot more for me than just good exercise. It really clears my stress and helps me focus.

At home, I'm doing low weight resistance training. I also use resistance tubes... This is mostly until I can afford heavier weights to work with. I usually do these at night alternating upper body and lower body each day. More than anything, I do this as an alternative to snacking while watching TV...

I like the eliptical at the gym and was just shown how to use the machines so I'm going to try those out now. I'm sure keeping my son entertained burns a fair amount of calories as well, we dance around with music and he loves it!
