What diet plan are you following at the moment?

I was wondering, what kind of diet plan other people are following on this forum. So I thought I start a thread.

Do you follow a diet from the doctor? Or did you just created your own diet?

Maybe you bought a book, or found a diet on internet? I'm curious,

The diet that i'm currently following and that's working for me is found on the internet. It took a while for me to find a diet, that actually worked for me.

How about you folks?

Well first off, my diet is not just > for the moment. It's for the rest of my life.

I pretty much just eat, whole, natural, unproccessed food. Lots of fruits and veggies, nuts, lean chicken breasts by the ton, pork tenderloin, fish. I eat very little bread, but I do eat quite a bit of rolled oats.

I try to keep my macros (proteins, fats, and carbs) to about 33/33/33 {note: if you don't know about macro balances, look it up, research it, and soak it in. VERY important}

Of course diet is the "easy" part. Hard core workouts, and cardio, pretty much 7 days a week are the hard part.

I've lost 115 lbs of fat, and gained 35 lbs of lean muscle in the last 31 months. So I'd say, this is working well for me :)

BTW, I eat a LOT more than any of the charts and calorie calculators say I should. And I could not care less. I see the proof of my practices in the mirror :)

I break even at about 3800-4000 cals a day. I just started a cut again yesterday. Fully expect to lose 10-12 lbs of fat, in the next 5 or 6 weeks, eating 3200-3400 a day. This probably sounds great to a lot of you, but its all relative. I will get PLENTY hungry eating this amount of cals....

Peace,

Fish

I am trying to follow the diet plan that came with The Firm Express Get Thin in 30 workout DVDs. There is a 4 Day kick start plan, which is only 1000 calories if you don't cheat (which somehow I just can't manage to do!) - and then you move onto a higher 1300-1500 calorie plan for the long term weight loss part of the program. It is designed to do with the workouts, but is pretty much just based on higher protein, lower fat and healthy amounts of complex carbohydrates. What I like about it is that it gives you a list of options for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks and you can mix and match so you can eat what you like best. I hate diets that tell you exactly what you have to eat. They usually ask for really expensive foods and heaps of different things throughout the week so that you end up having all these left overs cause you can only eat such small portions of everything.

For me I have found that if I try to stick to a fairly low calorie plan and cheat a bit it works out ok! I do a lot of exercise so I definitely have to eat often. I try to have 5 meals/snacks a day, which works for me!

AFor me it comes down to calories. I am counting calories and trying to exercise as much as possible. I use a program on my iPhone that counts calories.

It's a lifestyle change and I am trying to lose slowly so it doesn't come back so quickly. Three years ago I lost 60 lbs but gained it all back in less than a year.

I so agree with fish! My is for the rest of my life, too. It is adapting my own lifestyle to a workable weight maintenance. Slim Diet Secrets really does work. at least it has so far for me. Not only is it doable, but it is so easy to apply to anyones lifestyle. But it does take time to see results. Slow and steady wins the race.. :)

Yes, "slow and steady" i do simple routine exercises, sometimes i just do brisk walking. I can see results in no time. Just really need focus and motivation to do it every single day. I'm also into sugar-free diet. I just use a natural sweetener named Natvia in my drinks, and i dont feel being deprived with sweets coz it tastes just the same as sugar, but it's healthy and safe.

AI am doing a 6 week PSMF then returning to eating at maintenance calories or a little above for the second half of my training cycle before a final push to make weight before my next competition, I have never been one of those competitors who sauna down the night before comp day.

My own plan, I don't believe in things like Atkins, or cabbage soup, HCG, all that stuff will bite you in the butt when you go back to normal eating.

I Am Doing This

-1,400-1,700 calories a day

-Vegan

-High protein

-High fiber

-Low sugar

-Normal / regular range of carbs

-Good plant fats

-Lots of water

-A large diet variety (many different fruits, vegetables, the exotic, spices, colorful foods)

ARaw vegan.

I eat all the raw fruit I can get my hands on. All the raw vegetables I can talk myself into. all the homemade juice I can make, and all the kombucha I can afford.

Basically 80/10/10

I Never limit calories, and don't exercise, but the weight is falling off.
