what can i use instead

See toby gave me at great deit plan, but my mom won't let me get protein shake's cause she's fear's them for some reason so i was wondering what can i use instead.

I know what you mean but i need whey protein after my workout. Witch i don't think is in any kind of food unless it's ok to eat protein bar's to try in get your bf% down.

try to stay clear of the bars

tell your mum theres no need to be wary of shakes - downing a shake is just like eating a chuicken breast. but cheaper! LOTS!

why dont you buy your own?

but if you have to rely on her - tell her she has to buy you LOTS of eggs, and chicken breast, and turkey breasts

she'll soon see the shopping bill sky rocket and change her mind

You don't *need* whey protein after your workouts. There's nothing magical about whey that makes it a replacement for good old fashioned dietary protien - except that it's a lot easier to get large amounts without having to get the carbs, fats, and calories associated with dietary proteins.

actually whey is far more 'readily available' for the body than almost all dietry proteins, meaning that it gets put to use when it is most needed

It's more readily available in the sense that it's more easily absorbed. However, getting 100g of protein from dietary sources and 100g of protein from whey aren't vastly different prospects, really - except for the fat and cholesterol you get from eating from the dietary sources (which, with chicken, is minimal). My main point was, and I quote:

You don't *need* whey protein after your workouts.

You don't need it. If you can get your protein from dietary sources, you'll be fine. I sell protein for a living (well, partially) and far be it from me to diminish my own products, but a whey protein (or any protein) is best used when you don't *want* to eat as much, or can't eat as much as you need. If you're really heavily training, I would seriously recommend taking a protein supplement - but if robert13 isn't allowed to take one, there is an alternative that isn't necessarily any less good.
