What burns more calories over a day -

Which burns more calories over the course of a day - one large workout or several smaller workouts? Or is there a difference? Should I do an hour on the bike once a day, or 15-20 minutes sessions 3 or 4 times a day?

Either way is acceptable.

However, if your working harder during the 20 minute intervels than that would burn more as you would be able to work harder without fatiging.
 
it would be a bad idea to try to weight train 3 times a day.
2 or 3 short cardio sessions is a different story.

different things happen in the body during a strength training workout vs. cardio.
