What brought me here

<A part of this is lifted from my weight loss journal post, as I didn't see this thread initially>

So I came here after a bit of googling for a weight loss forum. I'm 18, 5' 8" and 150 pounds with a large frame that doesn't do me any favors.

When I was 16, I was 5' 6" and 190 pounds, so I guess I've come a ways.. Really though, I spent most of the first 6 months of 2008 just slightly cutting back on the fast food and portions. I use to be a very skinny child, I had to be given nutrients shakes, as I would eat so rarely. Around the age of 11 I took a medicine that was supposed to help with migraines, but really just made me gain tons and tons of weight, and just killed my metabolism. This has always made it hard for me to try and loose weight. But, this is in the past and all it is, is a minor road block in getting off the rest of this weight.

So now, I want to get this flab off me, and maybe some light toning of muscles. I'm just desperate to get a good body. I've wanted to get these last few pounds off for at least a year. But now I've realized I'm really motivated for the first time to do this. I'm thinking this time it will work, because maybe I can get some support here.

I want to be a healthier person, and I don't want to be embarrassed of all my flab when I take my shirt off.

Hopefully I'll be able to make loose that last 15, or so.
 
Welcome to the forum.

Well done for starting a diary. That is always a good move for making friends.

Check out the exercise and nutrition sections. Check out the sticky threads in all the sections. I think that it is the newcomer section that has the sticky that tells you how to create a ticker etc.

Well done on your weight loss so far.

Good luck with your project to get off those last 15 pounds...
