What book(s) are you reading ?

"Man's Search for Meaning"

"An introduction to Logothereapy"

Viktor E. Frankl

Has alot of content at the beginning of the food rations, approximate calories consumed, what they did for labor, etc, among the thousands of jews in the concentration camps.

"When the last layers of subcutaneous fat had vanished, and we looked like skeletons disguised with skin and rags, we could watch our bodies beginning to devour themselves."--Victor Frankl (concentration camp survivor).

Sounds like an interesting read. I was mesmerized when I read "Night" by Elie Wiesel. Have you read it?

No I havent, Gooch. What is it about? I will put this one on my list to purchase.

Its quite interesting what happens to the human body, when the "element of personal choice is removed and the availablity to get it", the body will act according to design not matter who you are.

It's his account of surviving the Holocaust. It's only about 100 pages, you can read it in a day, but it's very powerful.

I like reading the Psychology behind things and how people react to environments that are controlled removing personal choices while in intoxicating conditions, but are still able to overcome them.

I will do a search on it and pick it up.

Hook a brotha up? ;)

I have read it, we found it in with my grandfathers war stuff after he died. He too was in a prisoner of war camp, his brother was the first driver in when it was shut down. It wasnt the same camp as the book. It was a camp called bergen belson (sp)

I just finished blood work and have started the Poet. Both by Michael Connelly

I read "Night" In the 10th grade. Good book.

I currently have finished all Tom Clancy novels and have no clue of any other good military/spy authors.

I don't read books. IF I wanna know something its Wikipedia. If I wanna see some fiction or anything like that Youtube.

But my favorite book is "My brother Sam is Dead". Read that like 3 times.

Not sure if WW2 is of interest, but David L. Robbins' " War of the Rats " is pretty good ( set in WW2 / Stalingrad )...as are his " The End of War " & " Last Citadel "

I just had to post one of my favorite email forwards:

Nothing to do with the law or lawyers - its about a quarterback who, due to reasons beyond his control, finds himself playing in Italy's American football league. A nice read, and a refreshing change from his usual fodder.

Dad was like cleaning out all his old crap and he came across a book of his when he was into bodybuilding himself. Its called the Matrix principle but its like from the 80s lol

I just noticed this post. Honestly, I don't know exactly where it is. We've packed non-essential items already and I have about a dozen large boxes of books. I'm weird about keeping every book I read even if I don't intend on re-reading it LOL

I keep all the books I read in a hope that my son will read them as well one day. I still wear clothes like that! Just kidding.

The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano, Or Gustavus Vassa, The African
Written By Himself

I never could get into the Dark Tower series. I did read Misery, Cujo, Christine, and the one about the wife killing the husband during the eclipse when I was about 15. Then I tried to rewatch the movie Cujo and it sucked.

You read Goosebumps by R.L. Stine? lol

Does anyone remember a few books called Scary Stories I believe? They were just filled with short tales of scary stories. I remember there was 1-3 and they were black and white covers.

I have never read Goosebumps, but i do remember them from middle school i believe.

Cujo was definitely a dumb movie. Speaking of stupid movies. Has anyone ever seen Life Aquatic with Bill Murray? The absolute worst movie ever IMO. A crappy movie about a crappy documentary.

Ya it was pretty stupid. It was worse then I Am Legend even, well way worse. At least IAL had some action.
