What Body Frame Are You?

I heard someone talking about how they had a small frame, so I wanted to look up what determines what kind of frame one has. Apparently mine is small! I always thought I had a HUGE frame!! Well, obviously I can't used "big boned" as an excuse for my weight anymore :smilielol5:

Also, you can use your frame to get an ideal weight range for someone of your figure:

Obviously, that's not set in stone and you should go with what you're comfortable with, but it's nice for people who have no clue what they want to get to :)

So what kind of frame do YOU have?

I've always had a big frame. Well, 99% of me anyway. There's a certain 1% of my body that is lacking in size.

Anyway, my normal weight has always been around 185-200. Anything more than that makes me look like a fat turd and anything less makes me look like a douche.

I thought it was thumb and index finger? If I do it that way, I have a large frame. But if I do with my middle finger, I have a medium frame.

I can't even touch my middle finger and thumb around my wrist. I must have a SUPER HUGE AWESOME frame!!! Either that...ooooor, I'm just a fat poop.

since we're unsure if it's middle or index finger, i tried it with all my fingers and sure enough, small frame. with the exception of my pinky finger...if we went with that i'd be medium frame. guess i'm not big boned, just big hipped. ugh.

You know, I'm not sure which really. But if you use a tape measure, you'll get the most accurate result!

Soo, when I use the tape measure I have a large frame most definately. I've always known that about myself though.

But, when I use the finger thing I have a small to medium frame... I'm assuming my fingers are just FREAKY!! lol

Small Frame, A couple years ago some family members wanted to compare my wrist to my Great Great Aunts whom is frail at 93, I have a smaller wrist than she...how odd. This just sticks out in my mind.

Middle Finger & Thumb: small
Pointer and Thumb: small

Measurement: Just about 6 inches.

The website is waaay off for my ideal weight, it is interesting though, as it predicts what most ppl do. Now I have another negative stigma but from a computer...UGH

Intresting, it says im a medium frame. Yikes!!! Also my ideal weight between 124-136. I must just be thicka than a snicka!

I've always doubted this. My wrist is a little less than 6 around. But back when I was heavier, it was definitely more. Your frame size doesn't change with weight gain or loss. You're just calculating more or less fat cushion that can add up inches. I think a lot of people realize they have small frames after they lose weight.

Small frame here --- the ideal weight seems about right but I thought my fram was little bigger but I have reallly long fingers so maybe thats it.....

I've heard this before - interesting.

I agree with LoveFool: When I was heavier, I could barely get my middle finger and thumb to touch around my wrist. Currently they overlap A LOT, and my wrist measurement is <6". The most obvious conclusion is that wrists get fatty just like every other part of your body.

This is remarkably inaccurate and I hope nobody truly trusts this and takes it to heart.

Hand size and wrist size can both be independent of the overall size of one's body. It all depends upon genetics. Furthermore what conditions constitute somebody having a small frame as opposed to a medium frame as opposed to a large frame? There is no basis for the distinctions. Take this test with a grain of salt please.

Men & Women for one thing. Weight on a Man is different than weight on a woman, muscle mass, ect... Also Bigger Boned, and Smaller Boned. Also Bigger/smaller Framed has nothing to do with how much weight one is or if splitting hairs (how FAT), it has to do with Bone Structure which also has nothing to do with whether one is bigger or smaller boned. If your bigger boned, you'll probably be more weight because you have more bone mass. BUT than again whom are you comparing yourself to? Because you could be shorter or taller, so than it comes down to your height too. It doesn't mean you're Fatter.

Going by that I have a large frame. But just by looking at my enormous hands and feet, i could tell you that. I wear a size 12 (womens) shoe and my hands are bigger then most the guys I know....

i'm a freak of nature!

I swear wrist accumulates fat and so does fingers ^^; hence inaccurate method. but heh am small frame, yes I know already by looking at myself :p

Crap sake, that site says my ideal weight is 78lbs-85lbs. I don't think so. I know I'm small but that is ridiculous. I've been to 85lbs and that was not a good thing. I think my husband would have me committed if I weighed less than 80lbs.

What the?- how tall are you?? That's insane! I found the calculator to be pretty much on track. My ideal weight range is 144-158.4. So my goal of 150 is perfect- I'm 5'8" though...
