WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO when you reach your goal?

I decided to seriously reward myself for my weight loss. Being tall I have long legs, but they've always been shapely, attractive...probably my best asset. My legs have been compared to Angie Dickinson's and she used to insure her legs for a million dollars.

But, spider veings started showing up in the last several years and this year a really ugly veing popped up in the front of my leg, making it impracticle to wear shorts or short skirts.

Well, I made an appointment to get the veins taken care of. It's going to cost $250 per half hour treatment and they estimate 4 treatments so this is going to be a major treat for me. :)

I will do something shocking and out of character BECAUSE I AM ALIVE and it is my turn, dangnabit!

lol, I thought Kentuckians were the only ones that said "dangnabit!" It's good to finally know how to spell it! ;)

When I hit my goal weight:

1. All inclusive vacation at a resort in Negril, Jamaica with a different bathing suit for each day we are there! rawr!

2. Yup, all new clothes - from the ladies' section, NOT the plus size section!

3. Sexy lingerie from Victoria's Secret. They are horribly overpriced IMHO but I want to be able to shop there just once (for something OTHER than hand lotion!!) and have it fit!

4. Take my kids to a water park without feeling like a beached whale. I'll drop all of my issues and self-consciousness off on the scale and enjoy the fun!

5. Dress up in a sexy costume and seduce my man 'til he turns to jelly. :drool5: Well, okay, I do that now - but I'll have more fun with it! hehe

I have no idea what I'll do. My original goal was 130... I'm at 133.5, and still not satisfied. I will be aiming for another 10 pounds (I'm 5'2 so it's doable)... but I guess I never really imagined what I could do differently at another weight. I already have tons more confidence, and buying clothes no longer leaves me in tears in the dressing room, so that's a start!

I would love to be able to buy a bathing suit and not feel like a whale in it. No bikinis though, my daughter left nice mommy marks on my stretched belly. ew.

I would like my husband's coworkers to notice. Last time most of them saw me I was still a lot bigger. They are in the army so it's completely normal to chat about other's significants, lol.

I've thought about training for a marathon or something. With as much exercising as I do though, I STILL can't run. that would be the ultimate challenge for me.:hurray:

Work up a program for endurance. I have a friend that runs in marathons all the time. In fact, to celebrate turning 30 she ran in the Chicago marathon a few years back. Even as thin as she was, as athletic as she was, she still had to train for each marathon she signed up for. Baby steps. Work your way up. Maybe one day we'll see you in the Chicago marathon. :D

And congrats on hitting goal, btw. :hurray:

1. splurge on a super trendy Phillip Lim dress
2. do an amateur night lol crazy I know
3. do a work out with some of my military friends and be able to hold my own

Deffinately new sexy clothes!!! Short skirts, very form fitting shirts and low rise pants.
And an absolutely gorgeous String Bikini (no shorts needed! Tho that does mean a bikini wax, OUCH)
I am also playing with the idea of a tatoo. But I have such a hard time deciding what I want. Sometimes I want a flower or something really girly but other times I want some kind of cool horse one. Grrr it's so hard to decide, I don't want to be totally tatoo'd up, just one small nice one!

OK, I don't know much at this point about weight loss, but I CAN give some advice about this subject! And, you've probably heard all or some of this before, but I wanna feel knowledgeable for a moment. Indulge me if you will. A few pieces of unsolicited advice (dang, I seem to be doing that a lot, lately!):

1. As you know it's quite permanent and expensive/painful to remove. Don't go with something that is cool now (a fad or something popular and trendy right now) because one day you'll be like - what the hell was I thinking?? I have several friends like that. A friend of mine is totally in love with Hinder and got that "H" symbol thingy they have. OK, it is a really nice piece of ink. Do you think she's gonna feel that way in ten years? Twenty? I seriously doubt it. My advice (yeah, I know - still unsolicited :D) would be to get something that means something to you. Like, a butterfly because it stands for freedom or a horse for strength, or so on and so forth. You'll be less likely to regret it in years to come;

2. Location, location, location! Be very careful where you choose to put it. Obviously watch the places that sag with time. Gravity does horrible things to a tat. Also, do you care if it is out there for the whole world to see? If so, I'd go with a coverable place. Eyes on the back of your head (yes, I've seen this!!) is not so coverable;

3. Maintenance. You will have to have it redone occasionally. Regardless of the skill of your artist, your ink will fade over time. It's inevitable;

4. If the artist you choose dips the needle directly into the ink bottle instead of pouring out a little ink into a separate container . . . choose another artist;

5. And finally . . . I hear "just one" so often and 9 times out of 10, that's not the case. Beware. Tats are addictive.

:D OK. I'm done being a know-it-all. Thanks for playing. :p

Ok I could be totally talking out my a** but I thought I remember reading something about a new ink (I think?) that a few places have started use where it only takes one treatment to remove the tattoo....now I'm going to go on a search about this haha

(Gotta love Google!) Actually, I heard about this, too. Somehow the ink breaks up better than the old ink. But there is still the scarring factor.

AND, did you know (I found this out quite by accident) that if you have a tattoo (particularly a real old one) and you have to have an MRI, you should alert the radiologist because the MRI can cause damage to your skin at the ink site.

hm I'm now officially rethinking the tattoo thing...although what I want to get is small and would be on the inside of my wrist but I'm also a baby lol so we'll see

lol, I didn't say that to talk you out of it, darlin. I've got ink. See, MRIs use magnetic imaging. Tattoo ink has bits of metal in it. I'm sure you can take if from here . . . But, it's my understanding that the radiologist can somehow cover it up so that there is no damage. Although, I'm not sure what they would do for someone that is heavily inked . . . like sleeves or something.

can you imagine the poor radiologist standing there like uh.....hm...

Getting to my goal weight while maintaining a healthy mind set is something I need to improve on. I know that I want this to be a lifelong lifestyle and it'll never be a diet for me.

My first thought at 120 pounds would probably be "is this scale broken?"
I'd feel very happy not because I' am at a healthy weight nor because I can show off my new body. I'd be happy because for once I did this weight loss the right way with the right mind set.
I was never one to show off my body I've always been shy about that, even when I was average size during my school years.
I would shop and I' am no shop-o-holic I'd buy a few jeans and maybe 1-2 nice tops and one of those dress swimsuits (once again I am not one for showing off my tummy)
I'd love to help others who battle with weight loss any way i can.
I would call my parents and tell them the good news
Get a new haircut, I' am in need of one.
Go to Europe or America for a few months and meet my family members.
Most importantly I'll feel like I finally did something that changed my life and maybe others aswell.
Of course post my before and after picture without cutting out my head.

Now..this is a journey I must make the best out of.

ahhhh lovely thread :) i know JUST what im going to do...

1. cry cry cry of joy
2. like maleficent, fly down to see the guy who never gave me a chance and make him regret every harsh word he'd ever said to me(sweeeeeet revenge!!)
3. run at all the marathons that happen here(thats about 2 in a year)
4. get STRAIGHT into modelling :D

lovely... im all motivated again :D

bah, Tattoos are tattoos, i have 27 of em...get wrecking balm if you dont like it, it works

i think i will buy a Harley. then ride butt ass naked, or without a shirt, depends on the mood and weather i suppose

If I get close or reach my goal by the end of this year, next summer I'm going to try and arrange a trip to Chicago where a friend of mine lives. Hopefully, his boyfriend can also make it, and I hope that another friend of mine, his wife, and their baby can come too, along with yet another friend of all ours. So, a total of 7 of us (counting the baby). It would be freakin' sweet, but unlikely. Still, if I can just go and see my friend and his boyfriend, that'd be fantastic enough. My Chicago friend is really fashionable and much more girly than me, so hopefully he can take me shopping and teach me girly stuff. But until I drop some weight, I don't have the confidence to face him.

Another thing I'm going to do, is get a motorcycle for next summer and learn to ride it. And be sexy. I would regret it for the rest of my life if I never learned to ride one.

And like about2loseit, I want to own something sexy from Victoria's Secret :D

Celebrate Life

Losing weight, becoming toned, and keeping it that way will help me in my path to feeling successful.

For me, I feel like I am celebrating life already, it is quite a challenge here, so I've decided this summer whether or not I lose those pesky 20 lbs, that I am going to splurge on myself.

I too would like to learn to ride a bike this year, we're currently looking for a 250cc or larger street legal, dirt bike, used.

I am looking forward to a few esthetic changes.

A Belly Button Piercing, and am also looking for sites online for a few pretty shiney ones.

I have an old english word picked out (can't find it right now) as a tattoo for the bottom of my foot. It means always in motion. I have thought about getting "Breath" for my wrist or somewhere else boney that cannot be seen. In white or black or I have read about a type of ink that can only be seen with a black light....that might be right up my alley.

Hopefully start the race season, in winter. Learn to horse ride and just take lots of beautiful adventure holidays in the UK. I wanna explore this little Island :D Get into a swim suit without feeling self concious or checking for a butt cheek hanging out :D
