I think this sounds interesting - a ketchup that claims its a diet aid.

Must admit I do miss ketchup at times, even the low sugar and salt version is still not low sugar or salt enough for my liking.

This wonder-condiment claims to 'help consumers lose weight, speed metabolism, feel full longer, and add healthy nutrients to unhealthy foods like french fries.'

The high protein content should impress Atkins followers.

Sounds about as believable as any other miracle weight loss pill, drink, shake and whatever.

Or, to put it differently......:icon_bs:

Ha - yes I know what you mean San.

Think its biggest issue are the food items you like to put ketchup on, but I guess everything in moderation!

I get you san i think you want to say the food in which we put ketchup on it that food is healthy or not. I think ketchup in not heavy calories food .

Plz tell me about it?

depends on the ketchup. You have regular stuff and then you have some high fructose infused blends ketchup.

What's so wrong with regular ketchup? Most varieties are 15 calories per tablespoon, that's really not much. Yes, often it's higher in sodium (7-8% DV in the regular kind) but if you normally eat pretty low sodium a serving or two of ketchup once in a while won't kill you. There is also a little sugar, but again, if you aren't drinking the stuff it's not really going to be enough to hurt your weight loss.

I tell you, I'd rather eat regular ketchup containing salt and sugar. I know what salt and sugar are. Who on earth knows what's in that other kind or what that could do to your body!

If you want to lose body fat, stop thinking about whether a food is good because it is low in calories. Just don't eat it. I guarantee you people will think "OHHH LOW CALORIES! YES!" and dump it on. Every little bit counts. This is another product to profit from the weight conscious individual.

I guess it all boils down to eating in moderation. Besides if you really want to lose weight, you must burn/use more calories than you eat or just increase your exercise/workout routine.

Losing weight must have proper management in food you consume and exercise. There should be a balance between these two.

hi my name is Daniel pearl. and recently i have tried ketchup in my weight loss, it was effective but not as effective as the tomato is. tomato if eaten is a natural fruit and it can rapidly help in the weight loss. so brother and sisters you can also try tomato but if you prefer taste, then ketchup is also a good option

Another factor i will like to add in my opinion about ketchup in the weight loss, ketchup consist of chemical preservatives and salts sugars, and everyone knows it is not healthy for our body, so at times ketchup can be delicate but other times, eat tomato for weight loss.

Agreed! We should be scared of the additives!

Chances are, if you have ever eaten french fries, hot dogs or a hamburger, you have also had tomato ketchup. While this condiment is quite delicious, it is not necessarily very healthy for you.
The benefits of tomato ketchup do not outweigh the risks. The high sodium and corn syrup content are enough to severely damage your health. For best results, look for salt-free ketchup...or even better, avoid it all-together.

I think most would have more success with the 'zero ketchup' diet!

No, Amanda. This is a really old thread, posted by someone who also included spam in her post.

Hey Amanda, I have been using mustard instead of ketchup, mustard has few to no calories, no added sugar.

I agree with the last post before yours (4 1/2 years old) the "zero ketchup" diet works best.

Cate is right, this post may have originally been spam, and posting to old threads like this won't get you much support, better to stick to the newer ones. I assume you are a real person, so I responded to you.
