Westside for Skinny Bastards Program

I was looking around on the forums and found this program
I read through the whole program and it looked good since I need something like this because I am 16 years old 6'2 135-140lbs. I just want to know if its a good program and if I should use this program. I also wanted to know if protein powder is safe to take at 16 or is it suppose to be taken when your at least 20

hey..

wheys fine, its basically milk so it aint gonna do anything negative to you at your age!..
n the training program sounds like baloney!.. not cuz of what it is, just what its called - hardgainas are js ppl not eatin enuff for their body type! u dnt see fat ppl excusin their fatness by callin themselves easygainas - theyr fat cuz they EAT TOO MUCH! similarly, you're not as heavy as you want to be because you don't eat enough.. although now that you're bulking up you can change that!.. I don't think you can train a certain way because you're a hardgainer (which i dont think anyone really is), you just train like everyone else, if you're a "hardgainer" then the only place you may need to work a little harder is in the kitchen!.. hopefully sum1 else comments on the workout plan cuz i was just REALLY turned off by the title so i didnt read it properly!

more good food + hard training = size/muscle mass..

so just eat more (calories) than you need to maintain (thers a sticky abt how to work that out that sumwher), eat clean (any wheat products you eat, switch to wholegrain, cut out processed sugar, throw in protein sources like lentils, chicken breast, tuna, and the whey you mentioned etc etc, thers a sticky abt nutrition too i think) and go at the weights like a lunatic!..

Training a hardgainer is a bit tougher there Shank. Sure you could say he needs to eat more, but a hard gainer has a harder time gaining muscle, not weight. Just about anyone is an easy fat gainer.

For the program just how long are you suppose to do it for and for every exercise how long do you rest for? Also for every exercise like the max effort lift for Monday if you do benchpress one week would you do something else for max effort lift the next week? Also is protein powder safe to take at the age of 16 or should I wait until I am older?

ya iduo anboyut the program it seemed ok but just wasnt enough detail on what exatly to do like ho wmuch weight, rest time and all that.

I recommend rotating your max-effort exercise every two to three weeks to prevent your nervous system from getting burned out. Whether you shoot for a 3-rep max or a 5-rep max, the goal is to break your previous record every week!

The first exercise on your lower body day will be a max effort lift. You'll work up to a max set of five reps in this lift. This lift will be rotated every two to three weeks as well.

Notice that I provide lots of variety for your exercise selection and rep schemes. I don't like turning people into robots by having them aimlessly follow a set program. Choose the exercises and rep schemes you feel work the best for your body. Add some of your own exercises if you'd like.

For max effort lifts, I would rest 90-180 seconds, depending on how much you're lifting.

erm fair do's but my thoughts are that everyone should train as hard as they can with the standard FBW plan to begin with, whatever their bodytype, that WILL yeild results eventually with the right diet!.. I think diet's key for anyone, whatever their body type!.. Although I'm not all that well versed in this area - thats just my humble opinion!

Do all the other lifts get rotated as well like the supplemental lift on Monday and every other lift? Also how long do i do the program for? Also I still need to know if protein powder is safe to take at 16 or not

Protein powder is ok, its just milk.

Do one certain for at least 3 weeks then rotate. Do the program for as long as it produces results.

For the protein powder a couple months ago there was a thread from a guy who used protein powder. He said the heart still keeps growing until around the age of 21 and the ingredients in protein powder are not natural so they can damage the heart and he said to take protein powder after 20 since the heart is fully grown and then its safe. Is this really true?

Most food is not natural-look at the list of ingredients and think about all the fertilizers and hormones sprayed on the crops. Protein is protein. The only issue might be stomach issues if you're lactose intolerant.

Alright I just got one final question for the equipment I have 2 20lb dumbbells, 2 50lb dumbbells where I can put any plates on, a flat/incline bench, a barbell for bench press with about 170lbs, a swiss ball and a treadmill. Would it be better to get a gym membership so I have access to better equipment or just workout at home since the only problem I have with my equipment is I just need heavier dumbbells and my dad told me if I want to go to a gym he can pay for it.
