went from well under 200 lbs to almost 300 lbs help

I played soccer for 22 years and was always in shape and ideal weight. As I got older and didn't play anymore the weight piled on. Initially, the heaviest I ever got was 220. I lost down to 165 and felt great only to gain it all back. I did that a few times..gaining and losing. Just not even 2 years ago I was under 200, now Im currently 280. I've tried counting calories but lose track after a day or 2. I've tried no carbs but felt like crap. I have asthma and take steroids for it.. that doesnt help my weight issue. Are there any good diets that wont bore me into quitting from being miserable and starving? I struggle with fast food and sodas. I know thats my biggest problem but I feel defeated. I feel like I can't lose weight like I used to easily do.
