So, here I am! Larger than life! ;P
My name is Alicia, I am 29 years old, and I am 5'6"/320lbs. Sick, I can't believe I am posting my weight for the world to see. Acceptance is the first step though right? lol. I joined the website yesterday, and I have just been skulking around, seeing what's what.
Looks like there are many people supporting each other, and that is exactly what I need!
About four years ago I managed to loose about 100lbs on some crazy diet that was super restrictive. I was very active then, walking, hiking, biking... Needless to say, as soon as I went off the diet plan I gained back all the weight and then some.
Basically I have tried every diet under the moon, didn't really exercise all that much though, and got pretty depressed in the process! This may sound pretty funny or weird to some of you, but I had a psychic reading a few weeks ago and it was suggested that I would really benefit from an online weight loss forum. So after picking through some different sites, and getting the nerve to actually sign up and post something, I have decided that this will be my home for the next chapter in my life!
I'm taking a new approach this time to getting healthy. I've started walking again, and I now have a recumbent bike in the living room. Yayee! TV & movies while I exercise! Also, I'm slowly changing how and what I am eating. I'm just taking baby steps and cutting out the junk food, watching portion sizes. I'm going to keep a journal of what I eat too! But not only am I concentrating on nutrition and exercise, I have been working on the emotional side of it as well. Positive affirmations worked wonders for me!
