Hi, my name is 220 for all intents and purposes... I am 21 years old and weigh 220 pounds. I'm usually very active I work 8-4 and go to class till 8pm so I am really running around all the time. But it's the summer now and I've been waking up at 10 everyday too foggy headed to go to the gym (which is sad because my room is actually half a gym with a treadmil, an eliptical and a yoga mat with weights and million work out DVDs which i love!) In addition to my new found laziness, i just recently got braces put on with something called a bite blocker which literally means i can not bite anything. my diet is only things which i do not have to chew, which is fine because there are so many different yogurts and cheeses that are swalloable. the problem is i am addicted to white rice and it fills me up so i'm always craving it (yogurt cant even compete...) I know that i can do this, i lost 40 pounds this past year and i need to lose another 50 to be where i want to be. I just need to do it. so i guess i don't know if anyone will actually find me interesting enough to cheer me on but i am going to keep a detailed account of my lifestyle this upcoming month of august. good luck to me!

Hey Strongenough,

Great job on losing 40lbs! That's an amazing accomplishment!

Some suggestions on healthier alternatives while you've got your chew-blocker on ;)

1. Make shakes. They can be calorically and nutrient dense. Use milk, fruits, yogurts and some ice cubes. Sometimes I even throw a little peanut butter (natural) in mine as well. Invest in a blender if you don't have one .... and get creative :)

2. Cottage cheese is a great alternative to yogurts. It's packed with more protein and might fill you up better than yogurt alone.

3. Scrambled eggs.

4. Oatmeal - add some banana to it to give it a little bit of a sweet flavor. The banana will mush up nicely in it to make it more easily digestible.

5. And obviously soups.

You're going to have to make a choice when it comes to the rice. It's not your body craving it - it's your brain. White rice is pretty much the equivalent of sugar and you're body gets a sort of high when you eat it. Which is why you crave it more and more ... you're brain wants to re-produce that euphoric feeling. There are simply no benefits in you consuming it.

I'm here to cheer you on and offer any advice if you need it :) Start a diary/journal and keep yourself accountable. And get yourself to the gym!

Good luck.

My advice to you regarding having people to cheer on - is to cheer others on yourself.

I am at a different stage of my project - but when I started - I didnt have the wide circle of friends here that I have now.

I started a diary and saw who visited - then visited them back in their diary to cheer them on too. I also visited some other people's diaries and some of them visited me back.

Joining clubs and challenges also help to make friends. Generally post quite often. You get out what you get in - sometimes it has more to do with how many friends you make and less to do with how interesting you are. Most people here are interesting once you get to know them.

Hey StrongEnough! You definitely came to the right place for some motivation and info. Everyone here is great. It looks like we are about the same weight and have about the same amount we would like to lose. Good luck with your goals:)

ok yesterday...

breakfast: yogurt
lunch: a mixture of pureed eggplant w mayo and smoked salmon spread with vegetarian liver (hate these braces!)
dinner: yogurt and a bowl of white rice with more purreed eggplant

no excersize except walking to and from the train 10 blocks...

hmm i wasnt going to have the white rice but i was so hungry when i got home from class at like 9 i just had to...

i tried figuring out the calories and it's ok if i have the rice as long as i have only 2 yogurts and this spinach thing with cheese a day... but its so not healthy and has no protein or fiber or anything it would be so much better to have another spinach with cheese or a huge shake but those never fill me up!

today i am going to try my new plan with the rice because that only comes up to about 1540 calories a day and i think with my height (5'8") and weight (actually 215) that will be fine for now..

i had a yogurt for breakfast and i plan on having the rice for lunch then when i get back from school i'll have the spinach with cheese... if iget hungry somewhere in the middle i'll have another yogurt.

i have to drink alot more i hardly drink anything!

i miss chewing!!!

This section is where newcomers introduce themselves.

You will do better to start a new diary in the diaries section. Then other people will see it when looking for diaries to visit.

Go into the "weight loss diary" screen.

At the top of the screen there is an orange "new thread" button. Click on that and start typing away.

well i have no idea how to start a new post but i'll just keep posting here (if that's ok) it actually really works to just write it all down and get it out every day..

ok so yesterday i had a yogurt for breakfast, a bowl of rice for lunch, and spinach and cheese with a cup of vegetarian liver for dinner... no snacks and lots to drink.

i even excersized yesterday (for a whopping 10 minutes but still...)

today i have to give a presentation in class (which is why i am presently procrastinating) so i doubt that i will have time to excersize. maybe later

good luck to me!
