i worked in retail for most of my life but when i finished my degree got an office job, i threw on weight faster than santa on christmas night (thought id be topical

i went from around 182pds to just over 235pds. keep in mind im a 6'3" male so 182 was ok not perfect but ok.
i then found out i had a condition called cystic fibrosis which turned out to be the least of my problems, soon after, i developed arthritis in multiple joints worst in both knees.
i lost my office job and gained a few more pounds(stones). so now at 155pds iv decided enough is enough.
i know i sound like a lost cause, but if anyone can recommend some exercises for someone who can walk but not much, can breath but not much (seriously) and has all the time in the world (im still unemployed) please fire away.
on a diet note, I'm no angel but I'm better than most, my meals are usually pretty healthy, i only really eat chicken (meat wise) and LOVE my veg, and snack on fruit, nuts and seeds. my weakness being carbs especially pasta and cheese, i tend to over do those a bit.
i don't drink much alcohol (maybe 1 glass of wine OR 1 bottle of beer a week) and obviously don't smoke (damn it [words of an ex-smoker])
anyway im making a new year resolution of sorts to get myself fit again, cos at the current rate of progress ill be dead after not too long, extra weight means extra weight on my lungs, Cystic fibrosis doesn't like that.
