weights worth it?

Okay, so basically I have two goals. First, I want to lose 15-20 pounds in the next 3 months. Second, I want to get up to being able to complete a 10 mile run by the end of these 3 months (I'm at 6 miles right now). My diet is becoming cleaner and everything, so I'm really not worried about that. I swim 2500 meters 3X per week and run about 3 miles twice a week and then once I run for as long as I can before I can't run anymore (right now 6 miles). I think this is working fine, since the swimming seems to tone my upper body and the running my legs... the thing is that I have also been doing weights 2-3 times per week and I feel like it's really just taking up extra time, and I don't enjoy it very much either- will it really help me to reach my goals... so much that I should make myself do it even if I don't want to? Thanks!

yes it will

weights leed to muscle growth

muscle is metabolically active tissue

metabolically active tissue burns calories even when you are not doing anything

burning calories aids fat loss
