Weight Training and Cardio

Will doing excessive amounts of cardio (2-3 hours) after one hour of weight-training affect the efficiency of my post-workout protein shake? Reason I'm concerned is because I'm thinking my body will use the protein as energy and not direct it to rebuild the torn muscle.

I usually drink my protein ASAP after my workout, usually 2-5 minutes after I'm done. I'm looking to do cardio maybe 10 minutes at most after finishing my workout and drinking my shake.

2-3 hours of cardio if thats not a typing error it seems an awful lot. Have you looked into HIIT if nothing else itll save u alot of time.Whats your training routine like plus your goals and stats i dont know many people who could do that amount of cardio 10 MINUTES after doing an hour of lifting

I do 1 hour of cardio on machine (treadmill usually) and 2 hours of basketball, tennis and/or soccer, which I consider cardio, this's easily at least once every two days. I've been doing this for ages, out of habit, and I'm quite lean, but I want to look into building muscle

If you want to build muscle your gonna have to cut out all this cardio. That doesn't mean you shouldn't work your heart though. Limit your cardio to 2 sessions a week of HIIT (high intensity interval training).

And all that cardio after lifting will effect your recovery that day. So put your cardio on non-lifting days.
