almost 6mo ago my husband had a hypertensive crisis and wound up in the ER. He was placed on HCTZ, Lisinopril and later found out
he was hypothyroid and was placed on Levothyroxine. He started at 167. He is 67 and is 5ft 7 in. We also found he had hypercholestrolemia. He went on a low fat diet, started walking 3-4 times a day doing as much as 10 miles. Started to play tennis 3-4
times a wk and cut out almost all sweet. He ate alot of fruit and salad and cut out alot of salt. In almost 6 mo. he is down to 147.
He flutuates 3-4 lbs in a day sometimes. He stopped tennis about 3 wks ago due to a knee injury and started to increase his food intake.
He went up to 151 and we were at an amusement park for 2 days and walked about 10 miles in 2 days. He lost what he had gained and is back to 147. He is eatting more and has stopped most exercise and it is hard for him to hold onto the weight when he gains a few lbs.
I am not sure if his metabolism is so high from months of daily exercise and decreased caloric intake and his body is not adjusting yet to
the additional calories. Any insight on this. He says he has an appetite. He is still active working on projects around the house and very rarely sits doing nothing.
I am wondering if his medications he is on is causing this weight loss as well.
