I'm no expert in the matter, but there's one thing that I think is so obvious, but no one seems to realize...and that is:
DIETING IS RIDICULOUS!
Do you intend to stay on the diet for the rest of your life? If the answer is no, then you're just going to put the weight back on when you stop the diet. In fact, you're likely to put on weight MORE rapidly after dieting because of how it affects your metabolism. That's why so many people go from fat to thin to fat etc.
So how do you stop this vicious cycle? You change your lifestyle. Start eating healthy, but in a way that you can still be satisfied with the taste and amount, so you can maintain these healthy eating habits in the long run. Also have an active lifestyle. If you force yourself to go to the gym 4 times a week, chances are you're going to get sick of it and end up quitting. Take up and activity you like, whether it's hiking, dancing, walking the dog, a sport, martial arts etc.
If you have a healthy lifestyle, you'll natural drop to your body's natural ideal weight...which is much healthier, fun, and long lasting than diet trends and forced exercise.
And the most important thing is....all bodies are naturally different sized and shaped. Don't set your standards to look like whatever celebrity. Just be happy and healthy! That's way more attractive than anything else!
