weight loss with walking

Hi all,

I will be going to india for a couple of months. I have been regularly working out and managed to lose 15 pounds. I have 10 more pounds to lose.

But if i go on a vacation i won't have access to any gym equipment. So I am planning to brisk walk every day for 2 hours(6 miles). Do some weight training and yoga for couple of days in a week.

My doubt is if i will be able to maintain the current weight/ lose weight with brisk walking.I will be following a balanced diet.

i am also planning to get a pedometer. Can anyone tell me how many steps make a mile.

Any help/advice is appreciated.

With Regards
Deepthi.

I suggest you focus more on the diet, it's more important, as if you stray away from your BMR-500 caloric intake, you will begin to put on weight, even while walking 6 miles a day, 3mph, burning 500 calories. Focus on your diet and you should be fine, stay away from all the delicious Indian fried foods, stick with the braised and boiled. Eat fresh, eat clean, and drink lots of water.
