1- Eat six mini meals a day- this will allow your body to eat more frequently curbing your appetite for snacking.
2- Drink at lease 64 oz of water a day, but the amount you drink should be based on your weight and size.
3- Choose healthy foods from each food group.
4- Include some weight lifting in your weight loss management plan, this will allow you to remain proper muscle tone while losing weight

I found these tips on <link removed>
I have been following the steps for two weeks now, I have to say minor results but I feel a major improvement in my health, I can feel it!

These are generally positive steps that are mentioned in man places around this forum. We have been chatting about it all for so many years that the site that you linked probably copied them from us...

There used to be a diet myth that 6 small meals improved metabolism - but this was proven to be incorrect quite a number of years ago now... Now the best we can say is that this may help some people to stay satisfied and reduce snacking for them but it also can cause other people to exceed their calorie allowance by multiplying and magnifying excesses.

Just my quick dirty thoughts about the matter. It's not totally incorrect what kamzou0 said but a bit vague to tell the truth. Eating 6 times a day is not bad, I mean is far better than just 3 times for the matter but you can do much better with five times a day. And I'm not speaking about "mini" meals, but 5 strong meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and 2 snacks. Just consider that the digestion time is about 4-6 hours, so you want to eat every 4-6 hours (sleeping time excluded).

Then, drinking is important but to destroy a myth... over-drinking helps nothing!! So eating healthy: "Choose healthy foods from each food group." Now let me ask, what's a "food group"? And... do you really think to know what it takes for a food to be healthy? If I guess right what a "food group is" then let me tell you there are some groups to be totally avoided.

Final lifting weight will not help you burn any fat if you don't enter in "anaerobic mode"!! Just keep it in mind ok?

I agree with almost all that kamzou08 says. I am in Take Shape For Life plan and have lost 115 lbs doing basically what kam says. I think this is a safe and effective program.
