I weighed 275 pounds twenty years ago, I grew up on junk food, I weigh 135 pounds today - no, those numbers aren't typo's.
I lost weight by following the below items:
1. Never eat unless you're actually hungry. Too many people due to anger, stress, boredom, depression, and that isn't healthy.
2. Never eat to the point of being 'full'. There is a big difference between 'full' and 'no longer hungry'.
3. Go to bed hungry.
4. Stay away from diet pills.
5. Pay attention to the quality of your food.
6. Exercise will not fix a bad diet.
7. Eat when you're hungry.. even if that means eating more than 3 meals per day. I eat 6 to 8 small meals per day and my weight stays around 135. Quality of food or more important than quantity. If you can't grow it in a garden or raise it on a farm, don't put it in your mouth.
And, most importantly, choose a diet that you'll be happy with for life. You cannot go back to your old eating habits once you reach your target weight because those old habits were the reason you were overweight.
I'm 51 years old, not on any medications, no allergies or medical problems, and my blood pressure and cholesterol levels are normal for someone half my age.
My diet consists of fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, legumes, tuna, salmon, white meat chicken/turkey, and water.. nothing else.
I run 2 miles three times per week and I lift weights twice per week.
A better body IS possible but you have to work for it.
